6 Games left in the Regular season and if the tourney started today, UGA would be a #6 seed. Now I know I'm putting the cart before the horse, but UGA could finish as a #4 seed when its all said in done. If you look at the opponents that are ahead of us, check out their schedule vs the top half of the league (7th or better) -
So if those predictions hold true, the SEC Standings would look like this after 3/5/16 -
Who knows, Maybe UGA catches lightning in a bottle and wins all 6. I think it's safe to say as long as UGA beats the teams they are supposed to then they finish at least 10-8 or 11-7. Regardless they will get that first round by in the tourney.
Thoughts?
- Kentucky (2 games ahead of UGA) - Games left vs top half of the league - 4 - Prediction: I think they win all 6. Final record 15-3
- LSU (2 games ahead of UGA) - Games left vs top half of the league - 2 (Kentucky & FL) - This team is streaky and UGA had a shot beat them earlier this year. I think they lose 2 out of the 6. Final Record (13-5)
- USCjr (1 game ahead of UGA) - Games left vs top half of the league - 2 (UGA & FL - Both at home): Tough team to gauge - I'm going with a 4-2 stretch for them. Final Record (12-6)
- Texas A&M (Own tie breaker over UGA) - Games Left Vs Top Half - 2 (Vandy & Kentucky)- I really don't see this team losing to AUB, Miss St, and Mizzou. They could lose to Vandy and Kentucky though and I'll go with that. Final Record (11-7)
- Florida (Game left vs UGA) - Games LEft vs Top Half - 5 - This is a must win for UGA. If UGA can win against FL, FL will have to play @USCjr, @LSU, Home vs Kentucky and Vandy. Let's just say the basketball gods look down upon us and UGA beats FL - Then FL goes 2-4 down the stretch. Final Record (9-9)
- UGA - Games Left vs Top Half - 3 - I'm a UGA fan so of course I want that win against FL at home. I think they stumble though against Vandy and USCjr on the road. Final record (11-7)
- Vandy (tied with UGA) - Games left vs Top Half - 4 - Great team when at home (like almost every SEC school) - I think they take care of UGA, UT and Miss St. Final Record (10-8).
- Ole Miss (Game behind UGA and Dark horse here) - Games LEft Vs Top Half - 2 - Ehh I'm just going to say they lose @ UGA, @ TAMU & @UT. Final Record (9-9)
