In my opinion the back 8 as a group will be one of the better units ever fielded at UGA. I really like 59,84,42,7,across the middle. While it is true 84 is not a typical ilb,he is very hard to block and is a baller. I think we all forgot how good he was prior to injuries. The back end should be much better, stronger, deeper as a group. The front three will be very good against most teams but I worry about a power running team like bama, UGA does have 4 seniors and all grown men in the rotation, which generally translates to good play. I don't see how this unit is not more consistent, better against the run, more physical, better coached, more inspired than last years unit. I think this unit gets close to cracking the top ten but comes in around 12 to 14 nationally. I have said it for 6 months and stand by it. If the DL can hold up, UGA plays in the playoffs. This defense is built to stop the spread and would fair very well in the playoffs. At some point hopefully we see Mayes,Atkins,TT across the front.
