What a perfect pair, you can't make this stuff up. Should be some great SNL skits coming soon.

She has turned into an entertainer just like Trump, both media attention whores just looking to be in the spot light and turning it in to $$$.

Not a fan or defender of either "media celebrity," but please understand that EVERY politician at every level of government has more "look at me, I'm in show business" ham in them than "Carrot Top" can possibly imagine. MOST news media talking heads are equally addicted to their celebrity status and their pretend validity as knowledgeable and concerned commentators. Just a huge, cheezy, edge of town, carnival side show complete with barkers, freaks, clowns and monsters. Yay Team! Our Team's nicer than your team! Yay!

When he gets in the White House will you laugh your arse off. I know Clinton and others won't

"They" laughed at Lester Maddox, too. Then he was elected Governor. Jesse "The Body" Ventura elected Governor in Minnesota. Ahnuld was King of Kalifornia for a good long while. The laughter is a very nervous and frightened laughter, the kind that easily and quickly morphs into wailing and sobbing.

How much did Hillary pay the NAACP? What exactly has she done to warrant an endorsement from them?

You can't make this stuff up. We have been so dumbed down.

Lester Maddox was one of the greatest fighters for civil rights that no one understands. So what is your point?

I have decided now to vote for Trump. I am ready for a different style and get away from career politicians.

Those two at least speak truth and not just cater to the uneducated.

Palin IS the uneducated.
Truth ? truth is whatever The Donald says it is.
He is a world class business man with fantastic projects all over the world You know.

My point is that we laugh at non traditional candidates, while some of them become productive public servants in spite of our derision. WE the people cannot seem to learn that if it has happened before, it may likely happen again. Lester Maddox also cleaned up the Ludowici speed trap and crooked judge/law enforcement ruse going on there back in the day.

If Trump is the nominee I won't vote in the Presidential election out of principle. He'll win GA without my vote but at least I can feel good knowing that when the Shiite hits the fan it won't be because of my vote.

His axe handle had quite a career.
He was completely unknown before He made the news for using the axe handle to chase blacks out of His store.
I met Him back when He was Governor at The Optimist Baseball Field in Cedartown.
He straddled a telephone pole that was lying on the ground near the field and signed His name, I most have been 7 or 8 at the time.

Two idiots. They are perfect for one another.

I think Trump is an idiot. But he's not stupid. So far, he's outfoxed the GOP, the media, etc. He knows how to garner the attention and suck the air out of the others. He's got the whole world watching and Britain parliament had some choice words for him in a debate on whether to ban him from their country.

He also knew in a state like Iowa having Palin there will help with the evangelicals and tea partiers. Now once he's past that state, we'll see how long he lets her hang around. He can buy her to stump for him and he can pay her to leave. Wonder how Fox News feels since they fired her?

Even her handler during the McCain campaign wouldn't vote for McCain because of her. Nicolle Wallace. And Steve Schmidt, one of McCain's advisors said he found out "there IS something worse than losing. She knew nothing." His words, not mine. This was all shortly after the last election.

For me I've always thought she was all for herself period. She cared not one iota about her family, etc. it was all about the attention she could get. I realize it's a big deal to be asked to be a VP running mate. But at time when your son was leaving in 10 days to fight in Iraq (joined service to avoid jail time for drugs), a teenage pregnant daughter and the MOST important of all, a 4 mo retarded child. That child in early development needs constant care from mom to grow and learn.

That speech yesterday though, while the one when intro'd at the RNC was awesome, the one yesterday was full blown redneck and even Trump looked uncomfortable at times.

She may help in Iowa but I don't think she'll help him nationally. JMO.

My favorite "Maddox Memory" was when he rode his bicycle backwards on the old Joe Pyne Show, convincing millions of TV viewers that Georgia's governor was a certifiable idiot.

He led the fight with an axe handle, probably the same one He used to chase ''coons'' from His store.

You obviously have no idea who Lester Maddox was. Only what you read about him in liberal cereals.

He fought for the right of the businessman against Fed intervention. What happened on the doorstep of his restaurant, not store, was a private business rights issue. He then fought for civil rights. He employed many African Americans then worked for civil rights.

I am voting for trump. To hell with all these career politicians that have gotten us where we are today.

I was young, but very aware of The racist idiot.
You're actually using that old ''federal intervention'' bullshit ?
Like the interventions in Little Rock, Tuscaloosa and Mississippi ?

That was a bad lie, even in 1964.

Do you have any idea what the man did for the civil rights movement?

Research man. It pays off. Or you can just listen to talking heads rewriting history.

You don't really want to know. You just want him to be a racist.

Lester opened state jobs to African Americans. He was responsible for more of them getting access to jobs than anyone except P Willie remembers.

And Jimmy Carter ran as a segregationist. That phase of his life lasted from the campaign until his inauguration.

I sincerely hope you are joking with that last line.

Trump speaks what he believes to be the truth. This is why he comes across abrasive. Take it or leave it.

Hillary speaks to the vote. Whatever will get her the vote. And the message changes with each group.

So no, I am not joking.

So You think He still believes He saw thousands of People on Rooftops cheering the destruction of 9/11 ?
Come on, He is a blowhard clown Who happens to have good business sense. Of course filing for bankruptcy on 4 occasions like He did wouldn't work so well in running a country.

If you really think Trump says what he believes and not what he thinks people want to hear I don't know what to tell you. He promotes positions now that are diametrically opposed to things he has said in the past. He is simply pandering to a part of America that believes in nationalist populism.

Maddox did some things that were good for some Citizens, but He was a segregationist till it became a political liability. He was right in the thick of segregationist resistance when it mattered.

Couldn't be further from the truth. There was no political motivation in his civil rights work.

When it mattered, he stepped up. I don't play the racial game with history. All men weren't either all good or all bad. They were men who did human things.

Mr. Maddox was part of a pivotal time in our history. Much of his work placed the black worker in the workforce.

But I refuse to play the racial game and condemn every political leader of the day. Be a revisionist if you want.
