Jim and his alcohol problems will offer him so much money sexton would say you got a deal. He will screw Bama like he did lsu.

Ain't gonna happen. He could pretty much name His price at Bama.
He also lives damn near free now. A boosters' club supplies the mansion He lives in, He hasn't paid for a vehicle or a meal in 9 years, what else could He need ?

Saban is pushing 65, He is King, Dictator and Rock Star in Tuscaloosa. Also there is something vaguely Human about Him, His Family has settled in the area, He's not going anywhere.

Lol I mean other things caused him to get fired. The doctors in Miami said no for Drew. He did not have the same control he does now at lsu or Miami. I'm not saying he would take it just maybe he would consuder it. Like Kevin sumlin no way he makes it to kick off. Is seat is on nuclear melt down.

No i mean there is a chance.

Saban won't go anywhere unless he has 100% control over personnel. He learned some lessons on not getting the people including the QB that he wanted at Miami. Even with that, I think he wants to stay at Alabama and break some more of Bears records.

Saban doesn't work well if he gets out of the process that he is used to using.

That's what people said about CMR who has far more family in Athens than Saban in Tuscaloosa. There are company jets to get him home. Unlike college.

I think his family lives in Birmingham.

Even better. More commercial flights as well as general aviation go in/out BHM, rather than Tuscaloosa. Point being, CMR had both sisters & BILs, most of the 4 kids, mother, father and his bride, Kathryn's mom (if I remember correctly) all moved here. He left for . I don't buy Saban's "don't want to uproot family." Especially when it's a married daughter, another daughter and wife.

Nick's Mother, Terry's Parents and Her siblings live in Birmingham as well. Their Daughter has a new baby, which often anchors Grandparents.

Good point if he does the whole state of Bama make You porn very happy.

Richt would have lived out His life, or at least His career in Athens, given the option.
He is also 9 years younger than Saban, the same age Nick was when He took The Bama gig.

Nice point on him being younger however, Saban, even at his age, doesn't have quite the family in Ala. Besides, $$ talks. CMR said when he came...wanted to be here 15 yrs, then he wanted to go back to So Fla. He got his wish and lucky him, his former alma mater had an opening or created one for him since we now know he was pursuing it in Oct. Worked out VERY well for CMR. He'll just be missing family for a while I guess.

All that said, wonder what will happen with the Paul Oliver Network he created? That was a good thing and should be continued. I was kind of surprised, when offered to stay and do other things as well as expand the PON, he didn't choose to do that with missions/mentoring/counseling so important to him. But, like with any human, $$ talks. And he took it.

I agree with that. Then again, if they come begging and offer enough, I think he'll bail. And then what happens with those coaches, particularly, Cochran who everybody was hoping would come here.

He would go Billy would be like I can be suport staff

Didn't know all that. But again, if a good man like CMR can walk away from family, Satan sure can.

I bet they offer him control

I don't think money will be a factor, it might be used as leverage, but Bama boosters won't let a few million dollars stand in the way of more titles.

A few try 20 or 10

Bama would match or exceed any offer in My opinion.
It's not like Saban left Miami with a sterling reputation in NFL circles either. He might not warrant the kind of offers some think He would command.
There are 3 retired NFL coaches who would likely be offered huge money before NS would.

It's also claimed Saban was offered $100 million guaranteed to coach Texas. Supposedly that offer still stands.
If He was looking for more riches and a new challenge, that would have lured Him.

Well that offer is new last time they offerd him was 40 mill hell Lsu was willing to pay 50. For jimbo. Jimmy is Smart agent

There is a book out that claims Saban was offered a guaranteed $100 million contract ( I don't know the number of years involved) whether it's true is anybody's guess.

Dang Texas schools know how to spend

Texas is the richest public school in the country. Their AD also takes in more money than any other school, public or private.
I don't know how much money a national title would bring in, I'm guessing a wad though.

Yep I'm guessing 50 wads in 100 dollar bills

He wants to coach 4/5 more years and he does not want to go back to the NFL. He was there a long time as an assistant, DC and then HC. He likes where he lives, having his kids and grand kids handy and he loves his job. Kids live and have careers in Bham. Plus has bought his mother a home and moved her to Tuscaloosa. And he has a Mercedes Dealership in Bham and is building another. They, (MB) are huge Bama supporters financially and are GIVING him more dealership points for his life after football. He makes $7M. and can get partnerships in some big shooters business interests to keep the University from paying him an embarrassing amt of money. He makes all the money will have business interests there the rest of his days, and where he lives. Everybody forgets he is basically a country boy and N Georgia and the hills of NW Alabama are a lot like WVA. Likely he will become the AD there when he stops coaching. Or just retires to being a car dealer. The odds of him leaving are close to zero. However competing in the SEC west will drive a man to drink or insanity or both.

Huge arguements on Finebaum yesterday. Finebaum says 10 million will get him to the NFL. I don't believe he'll leave, but not ruling out. Nobody thought he'd leave LSU either. Like I said, enough $$ thrown out there, like with most coaches and egos, will say to hell with it, I'll take it.

I would have never thought CMR would run off without family. If he will do it, so will Saban.

''Run off without Family'', damn, something is wrong with many of You.
As for Saban, He is not leaving Alabama to coach anywhere else.

He ain't going to the colts there dumb owner just signed there idiot to a extension. It's a amazing what liquor and a week do. You can go from being fired to geting a raise.

Spouse spoke with his BIL about 2 weeks post him going to Miami. BIL said "it was Mark's decision. The rest of us are not going anywhere. Athens is our home." I am SURE once Kathryn graduates nursing school in May or so, she'll be going but sure didn't sound like the rest were. Especially since he hired Jon who has the only grandchild.

My whole point was $$ and ego will win out with most coaches, regardless of all the coach speak of "family". And if one like CMR who ALWAYS promoted family, etc. Saban would too.

Although, I think Saban won't. But not because of family.
