Unfortunately the scammers have found DawgTrade and have taken several people for some serious cash. So let's list some ways to hopefully avoid being scammed. Feel free to add any tips in the comments and I'll add them to the list.

1. Do not list your phone number in the original post
- Scammers will text you stating they saw your post on DawgTrade - There is no way to verify their user ID when they do this

2. Do not list your email address in the original post
- Same as above, the best way to initially communicate with buyers and sellers is via Direct Message or in the comments

3. Never text or email screenshots or barcode numbers before payment
- All a scammer needs is the barcode number to sell your tickets on Stubhub or Ticketmaster - Once you send them a screenshot, your tickets are gone. Good luck trying to get them back.

4. Only pay for tickets after you have verified the sellers identity and references (preferably via other buyers/sellers on DawgTrade)
- Several scams mention on here that deposits were paid or full payment and the seller disappeared
- Scammers are clever, they will have facebook pages or other means to make it look like they are legit - Be Careful before you send $
- Electronic payments are standard and all of us like the no fees that venmo/zelle charge. But once you send the $, it's gone.
- Consider only paying with Paypal/Venmo "Goods and Services" payment (Not "Friends and Family"). This method has a fee (around 3%) but gives you an opportunity to dispute the charge should something go wrong.

5. Members of DawgTrade, please vouch for other members if you see their posting and you've done business with them before. It's for everyone's benefit here.
- Be wary of new members vouching for new members. Everyone wants a good deal, but sometimes a seemingly really good deal clouds our judgement and we do things we normally wouldn't do.

What else can I add to the list?
