I know the game brings a lot of money, but I often think 'why do we have this game?' For example in 2018, we were in until the SECCG. The committee says get the four best teams. The Dogs were one of the four best teams IMO, and of all people Herbstreit was saying UGA was one of the four best even after the loss to ALA. Instead the committee chose Oklahoma with 12-1 over us with 11-2. Does the committee in 2018 select UGA with 11-1 or OU with a less schedule at 12-1? I don't know

On the flip side in 2017 Auburn was set to be in the playoff, and the SECCG allowed us a second chance so I know there are two sides to the discussion. If ALA wins the game this season, they are in and more than likely we are out. If there is someone who has a more difficult game in a conference championship than us, please let me know. To me the two best in the USA right now are ALA and UGA.

Other leagues have had conference championship games that were not much of a game like the Big 10 and ACC. This means to me those conference champions get a free pass the first Saturday in December.

For me personally, if I was to get what I wanted there would not be a SECCG. There would be a 13 game schedule where there would be the 3-6 format allowing four out of conference games. It would be five for everyone outside of UGA, UF and SC.

I know there would be the NCAA and legal issues with a 13 game schedule. I have no idea on that issue because I'm not an attorney. Then there is the issue of the SEC saying "tv, we are giving you something extra and better so up the contract". Then TV says 'up yours'. I get it...just saying what I would want.

This is why I really like this page to get other peoples thoughts. If you disagree with my opinion, it's ok.
