I actually think the offense performed better than the score suggested...

There's no avoiding the fact that we didn't score a single TD. That's a pretty ugly stat. But we nevertheless dominated Missouri in first downs, total plays, total yards, and time of possession. Plus, we had only 3 penalties all game and at least 1 of those came on defense (the targeting call). If you just looked at the box score, you'd assume we won by about 20 points.

Plus, after re-watching the game, I don't even think the gameplan or play-calling was that bad. The execution was mediocre at times, but Schotty went out of his way to give Grayson some easy throws to get his confidence up, he tried to use Sony in a lot of different ways, we got the ball to both Mitchell and Godwin, we used our TEs a bit more, etc. Missouri's defense did a great job of tackling in space and limiting our yards after contact or yards after the catch, and both their punter and kickoff guys were outstanding which limited our starting field position. So, not many explosive plays for us and we had to try to maintain a lot of long drives against a pretty good defense.

Bottom line is we're missing our best offensive player (Chubb) as well as McKenzie, and our QB is just mediocre. Only so much we can do with that.

Personally, I think we should let Keith Marshall take over the Chubb role and go back to using Sony in space where he's so dangerous. It would help to get McKenzie back out there too as his speed can create problems for the opposing defense.

I am certainly not feeling confident about our chances against the Gators, but just pointing out that the offensive game plan and play-calling wasn't as bad as the score would make it seem.
