First of all, I am all for people believing what they want. That is a freedom given to us as a greater good to man. But I am not called to sit silent as a Christ follower. So I can't.

We are all trying to convince others of our beliefs. All of us are trying to convince the masses of what we think.

But as a Christian, I see a more sinister side to the liberal argument.

The silencing of Christians seems to be a transparent norm in most progressive liberal mantras. Silence Christians and you lose the voice of discussion in most new legal arenas we are in.

Abortion
Animal Rights groups
Homosexuality
Same sex marriages
taxation
Removal of religion
reparations for the past oppression of the negro race
oppression of females
redistribution of wealth
reduction of military
redefinition or discrediting of the word truth
movement from a free market economic system towards a more socialized government
increased dependency on centralized government
removal of laws, moral norms and ethics based on a higher power and authority
reduction in personal freedoms of citizens
reduction in personal business decisions by privately held companies
reduction in sovereignty rights of states to make decisions for the good of the state and citizens of that state

These are just some of the agendas that the progressive liberal, for the most part, will support blindly in order to gain legal advantage for any one of the issues. And this is what is so perplexing.

Posters here will blast a candidate or politician because they hold Christian values that disagree with homosexuality, so they will vote for a socialist or communist in order to get their way and shut down the Christian. Groups will petition to stop prayers before high school games, yet the teams are playing pump up music that speaks of rape and killing cops. Where is the logic there? There is none.

The whole issue is spiritual. Why do we send someone to jail who kills an animal, yet reward the doctor who kills an unborn human baby? Why do we pay people to sit home and do nothing, but ruin those who work and can't pay their bills? Why do we look over the course of history and think for even a second that a reduction in our military will bring about world peace? It can't. But it can bring our country to its knees and bring us in line with a global initiative. Losing our sovereignty as a country.

I don't get it.

I subscribe to a Bible verse in 1 Corinthians that says something like "Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial". God gave us the freedom to choose. With that, we can screw up our world. We already have.

Help me out here. The NFL spends millions on cheesy ads about domestic violence. What about the racist groups telling members to kill cops? And why isn't our government doing more to speak against that?

I don't get it. Just rambling on a Wednesday.

We've exchanged balance for entertainment value. We choose to be followers, consumers, customers, fans, over being voters, builders, leaders and providers. Why? Because it is easier that way and it is more fun that way and we don't really have to think much that way. As a sorry-assed friend of mine once jokingly (sort of) said, "The world can go to hell as long as I have a sandwich and a place to sit to watch it all."

Poor oppressed Christians. Maybe some day we'll have a POTUS brave enough risk being fed to lions and openly call himself or herself a Christian.

Other than abortion That list you posted has NOTHING to do with religion, it's a political agenda disguised as Christian ethics.

Willie, I couldn't agree more, well written and right on point. Some of these folks on the vent will never understand because they lack an understanding of Christianity and the Holy Spirit. They can't argue, only belittle and call names. That's the problem we face in trying to correct some of these issues. No one seems to want to listen or reason with facts, it's all about what makes them feel good today with no regard for how these discisions affect human life and the well being on mankind in the future.

So 'removal of religion' has nothing to do with religion? And that's not a disguised political agenda too?

You laid out a long list you think is anti-Christian. By that reasoning The Pope is very anti-Christian. What you listed is your political beliefs, not religious beliefs.

What you're selling is religion, instead of a relationship with your Maker?

I believe God hates religion.

I didn't lay out the long list but you said it had nothing to do with religion. Do you even make sense to YOU anymore?
One day you're lucid and the next....well, not so much so.
And yes, the Pope even has Christians starting to doubt his beliefs when he's silent as a mouse in a funny hat when the abortion drama is brought up, then starts shouting how climate change is killing us all when he needs the socialist global financial redistribution to occur more quickly.

Catholism is religion gone wild! White washed tombs as Jesus said.

Imagine Jesus spouting all of that right wing dogma, it's GD sure not anything remotely like the words attributed to Christ.
It's politics that's repeated it's BS so many times people have convinced themselves it has something to do with being a Christian, it's absurd on it's face.
Blessed are those who protect my guns and build fences along my borders. Blessed are those who protect industry and keep a strong military.
The twisted thing is YOU think your politics have something to do with God's will, it's seriously perverting true belief.

On your list of things there. Which ones would Christ support? Don't think he'd be a states rights guy, he certainly wasn't a free market capitalist, I think he'd love animals (probably would be an animal rights guy), he certainly didn't say much about the homos (so I assume he didn't have strong opinions like you about them because he didn't waste his time talking much about them in the New Testament) . Furthermore, your primary tentant of redistribution of wealth, Jesus certainly would not support. You know love thy neighbor and all.

The problem I have with folks on religious right is that they now support a party that is mostly not like Jesus.
Right wing tenants:
Lower taxes on the rich (certainly Jesus would not support this)
Get rid of social support networks funded by the government.
Strong military-think Jesus the God of love wants us to have the most powerful military on earth? If so your just fos.
Keep out immigrants and the poor from South America. Umm not so Jesus like
States rights- think Jesus would gas about states rights? No

The reality at this point is that the Republican Party has been hijacked by you guys from folks like me. One issue carries the day. Abortion. All the others just fall behind it. It's really the only main issue I think Jesus would actually agree with the religious right Republican Party on at this point. Most others are debatable or really anti-Jesus like.

Heres the issue for the long run though. In doing this all the moderates in that party like me were pushed out. And won't return. Social moderates that are also fiscal conservatives have no place in the pub party. I don't have a party now. Now you guys let trump hijack your party and he will kill any chance you had at getting any Hispanic vote. By 2020 46 percent of the country will be black and Hispanic. Game over if those two voting blocks go democrat. So by doing this the pub party is sealing its fate. I guess there's always jerry mandering as their only hope but forget national elections like the presidency. Times soon to be up.

The party of Ike is long dead, the party of Lincoln turned to dust long ago. What we have now is a Republican Party of selfish interest posing as representing Christian teachings.

I don't believe Jesus would be okay with a government forcing people who work to give money to people who refuse to work.

But hey, what do I know?

And hey, that's where you're wrong and not like jesus. Don't think there were "lazy" folks who "refused to work" in Jesus' time? Tipping people just all of a sudden changed? Read up on Rome and Athens. Same problems, same complaints in those times also. Here's a few things the bible says about the poor.. Errr sorry, the folks you call "refuse to work". With that, I'm off to work

I didn't see the verse that said if you don't work you don't eat.

I believe they are talking about you as an individual helping the poor, not the government taking my money and distributing it to whom ever they wish.

Diehard is right on this. There's a ton of parables in the Bible about going to work and making money instead of lazing about.
Pretty sure he made mention of marriage too several times in his speakings as between a man and a woman. Even uses the church in some examples as a bride and specifically mentions it in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and Timothy 1:10
Jesus once went off on the temple full of money changers, so that means he hates banks and loves whips?
Jesus was not a gay rights activist who promoted legalizing pot so when the left hijacks a public figure it's just as bad.
I think as a carpenter he was probably pretty bad ass. And liked sleeveless tees.

Christ was 180 degrees from what ''Conservative Activist Christians'' advocate for today. If you deny that fact you're just being dishonest. The Christian right is 80% self serving, 10% judgmental. The other 10% is used for anti abortion positions.

Agree with the first part, but it also applies to ALL of us. Human beings are self serving and as such THE biggest problem with all doctrines of faith or politics. Those of us who care enough and are capable enough to actually do things and write things down also screw things up and the rest of us stand around in judgmental horror, as if we have never seen this movie before. What a bunch of dopes mankind continues to be.

You laid out a long list you think is anti-Christian. By that reasoning The Pope is very anti-Christian. What you listed is your political beliefs, not religious beliefs.

While he might not be anti-Christian, he isn't a Christian.

The points listed were discussions that liberals will use to shut down the Christian perspective. A Christian might want to fight for socialized government, but won't sacrifice his faith in order to get it.

Some here will call a Christian down on any of these points just to protect one. I venture that maNY won't vote for a Christian conservative just because he speaks against gay marriage. They will vote for a communist to get gay marriage. Where is the good of the the whole versus the desires of a few?

In all those examples, there is a religious perspective that is ignored if you are a true believer. Much like the Biblical reference if a rich man going to Heaven. The parable wasn't about money it was about what we see as our treasure, our desire, our focus. To the rich man, money may be the God. To others, sexual sin.

Yeah, that Pope can't make decisions for God.

You seem to really hate Christians? Am I wrong? If I am not wrong then what happened to you personally that made you so hateful? Usually it is a very bad experience with someone who was unusually harsh. Did you have an abortion and someone called you a killer? I may be reaching but a lot of the hate I see towards Christians seems geared towards trying to right some perceived wrong someone did to you? I'm sorry you are so angry. Based off of your posts regarding God and religion today I would say you have no hope. So please stop trying to make everyone else as angry as you are. Please just go hang out with your Christian hating friends and leave the rest of us alone. Good day.

I think you are wrong here. Christ died because he felt so strongly about the basis of truth that included God's Commandments and Laws.

I am a conservative Christian. I am not an activist, because I am defending laws, ethical and moral behavior that has been the norm since the beginning of time, creation of countries, businesses, societies and cultures. Activists work to change what is the accustomed norm.

Labeling me as an activist would make you a liar.

Of the items I mentioned, the basis if the conflict is the basis of God's Word in these issues, not the issues themselves.

An example is that abortion murders human life. Same sex sexual relations is a perversion and an abomination in the eyes of God. Both of these issues mock God and his Word. So issues, being a standard method of ethical and moral behavior for centuries, have been bastardized for the benefit of convenience and sexual gratification.

The activist works to change social norms. Good or bad, the activist works for change.

So calling a conservative Christian an activist is disingenuous and perversion of truth.

But it is the normal liberal buzz phrase.
