for the last ...at least 6-7 years of posting...maybe longer bc I can't remember when I started posting...
Our offensive game plans are too conservative, we don't attack a defense. Our finesse style of trying to establish the run on first down and always calling the screen on 3rd and long are so predictable. We came out against SC and threw the ball to open the run... and it worked very well...Passing opens up running...Running on 1st and 2nd won't open up passing on 3rd and long...
Tenn attacked our defense...the spread type offenses are far more unpredictable then the pro style...the pro style is for the pros..college style spread offenses, because of the speed differences, create the mismatches. We're not surprising any defense in the pro style. It's easier to defend. It would be more effective and unpredictable if we came out throwing than trying always "establish" the run.
Alabama doesn't run a true pro style, they run a mix of the pistol yet they attack a defense..
I want us to win..yet we are too much like the personality of MR which is too passive...he chews out the punter..but not the guy that commits a PF, he got mad at the TO for 12 men on the field but lets the guy get a pass for PF that cost us...I'm sick of the "he's a great guy" mentality, he is...he has brought the program to the level of this expectancy which is ...
I expect that we will always win anywhere from 9-11 games but always lose the games that put us in the drivers seat...and that's the talk on from all the talking heads on sports shows...we are now the .."Clemson's, the Michigan State's of old, the Oklahoma's, etc" where there are tons of expectations, yet always a letdown ...every year...oh well....I'm predicting I'll write this next year too...
MR will never get fired...he determines his fate with his tenure...so this is it...
JE is coming and it won't be a complete turn around either...we will be the same with him as we are now...just as we were with DG, DJ, MS, JC, AM, HM, and now GL...
Go Dawgs...
