On one hand, I don’t blame him.
I have no idea what his compensation structure is, but I’m sure he makes more money if the conference can get a much larger TV deal.
And when you have access to the Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, etc. markets, it would behoove you to “give them something to watch”. Which means they’re going to give Texas an easy schedule so that they can shine and generate lots of TV viewership, which generates more money for everyone.
