Is it silly though? Trump running on 16 was initially silly to most. The idea of a 78 y/o trump running in 2024 was silly 4 years ago (as was a 80+ y/o Biden), yet here we are. All that being said, this has no chance in getting out of the house with 2/3 majority so your point about the hens cluckingon the view is accurate (seriously, who watches that nonsense?). This rep is just showing that he's 100% behind trump and Johnson is just letting him do it because he can....

Yeah, I think it's silly but it is serving a purpose. Every minute spent by Trump's opponents talking about a 3rd term is a minute they aren't talking about issues that matter. So, I'm loving the Dems blowing gaskets over J6ers and 3rd terms while Trump is rounding up criminal illegals and telling Klaus Schwab and his band of one government tyrants to grab their ankles.

Here is the hilarious part of the ridiculous proposal. And why he is even floating it at all. He is saying you can only do this if you have split terms. You can’t have a third term if you have already been in office for 8 years. It is totally a thing for Trump. There were a ton of lefties laughing at first about it because it would allow Obama to run again, but this clause leaves him out. Which again is why this is so ridiculous
My concern is that Don Jr is going to run, and Trump will tell all his cultists to support Jr., and they will dutifully follow.

Thought about that myself. Hope it doesn’t happen. If we think Trump is not liked by all Dems and even some Pubs, Don Jr. is toxic.

Not going to happen and the executive order on birthright will be overturned due to that requiring a Constitutional Amendment. I would almost bet the executive order was done to try and get an Amendment started.
The Executive Order circumvents the standard process the same as Biden's pre-pardons circumvent the law.
