what happened to Chubb is awful... one of the worst injuries I have seen, at least it looked like it... Seems like he was out of bounds and kind of out of balance when the second guy came in and hit him... I don't know if it is a coincidence or something more than that, that Chubb and Lattimore's careers might be ended prematurely at the hands of Tenn.... Hopefully, Chubb can recover, Lattimore obviously never did... The fact UT fans were cheering when he was on the sidelines injured is sickening, these kids' futures our at stakes, all fans need to wake up and not cheer when anybody is hurt no matter who they are or who they play for... Its sick.

Nobody was cheering chubbs injury man. It was the beginning of the game and the crowd was focused on the game. UGA fans saying we are classless.....wow....wow....glass houses homeboy.

Bullshit. They cheered when the announcer said he was injured over the speakers. Don't try and cover up your classless, asswipe fan base

If this is true, I am genuinely sorry because it does not fit the usual narrative. I know we have our bad apples but in my experience, Vol fans have ALWAYS shown class for players from other teams. I'm very surprised if this is true and will look into it. It's out of character for Neyland. We are rabid fans, but we don't cheer injuries. I seriously question this.

It is true. Not on you obviously. Every team has their bad apples and I understand vol fans being frustrated at the year and needing to blow off steam but there is no excuse for that many doing it and the Twitter posts out there. Won't matter to anyone, but I lost all respect for the vol fan base tonight. I have never seen that done in Sanford, matter of fact, I saw it from Florida fans one year and that was it.

I'm going to look into this. Seems very unlike Neyland. If it's true, I'm incredibly disappointed but forgive me if I'm skeptical. But Mr. Chubb will be in our prayers. I look forward to his amazing NFL career.

Oh yeah right, as if any vol fan would own up to that disgusting behavior. There many reports on it from UGA fans. Hell even Richt must have noticed it too if his post game interview was any indication. I have always been treated decent there save a few drunk idiots you see everywhere. But you go ask who you wish, I'm sure people will fess right up to it

From a friend on VTTW who was there... and I believe HIM. I said some UGA fans suggested Vol fans cheered when Chubb was hurt:

"If anything, the biggest applause for an injured opponent I've heard in a long time
#badword#s, thought all their fans I spoke to on the long journey down the ramps and back to the car were very cordial and respectful and most seemed to appreciate the many VOL fans that expressed their best wishes for Chubb's recovery."

Oh yeah, one fan base is significantly better than another. Total bullcrap. All fanbases have their idiots but for the most part every single one has a majority of people who just want to see their team win but show class and respect to visiting fans and players. If you think one fan base is any worse than another you're gullible and hyperbolically homeristic. But if claiming we are awful human beings makes you feel better, go for it.

Well not all fans of UGA are any one thing. I know that. We're all people and some act like idiots. But if you enjoy blanket generalizations, if that makes you feel better about the fact that you lost, go for it. If some students acted like azzes, it's regrettable. But if you are literally calling all Vol fans classless jerks, well... you lost. I understand. All I know is, on Vol boards, many are discussing being disturbed by this accusation and I know for a fact that in the past, Vol fans have shown outstanding respect for opposing players. What else are we gonna do? WE RARELY WIN!

All I've found thusfar:

"They cheered immediately following the play, because we strung it out for little/no gain. When it became apparent Chubb was hurt, the stadium went silent."

"yeah, first play and the defense strung it out for a good play, crowd is into it. I didn't know Chubb was hurt for a bit, till I heard "he is still down"
Crowd got quiet as you said and cheered for him when they helped him up."

"Saw nothing but class and respect for the injured Chubb from section Z11."

Amazing how we keep losing our key players up there, isn't it. Quite a "coincidence"

Take your cheap shot artist #54 (who cheap spotted Tuttle out of the game) and Shut your ignorant mouth!
why don't u KMA and go back to your own board and shut your own pie hole jacka$$, nobody wants u posting here anyway, just to gloat and rub salt in the wound, by the way what is a cheap spot, must be a ut thing... PERIOD.DOT

They have been doing this to players for years. Someone posted a list of like 6-7 plyers in the last few years. They play dirty and are a disgrace. What needs to happen is everyone needs to contact espn and ask them have you noticed Tennessee ends Lattimores career, hurts chubb, gurley, shaw, bennett, marshall, barber, and driskel. Are you f ing kidding me.

agreed, nothing worse than those inbreds.......

It happened on the same sideline where I was seated. No one was cheering his injury. Georgia fans are just being sore losers.

You are right we all have our own embarrassments when it comes to fans. My apology for lumping you all together. With that said, I thought I heard them cheering the injury because it was before anybody knew anything while watching on tv. Before they got him up, which is generally when a crowd cheers. But thought maybe something else was going on. Surely not cheering an injury, I thought. Then I got a text from a Dawg there who asked about Chubb as they couldn't tell how bad. Before I could answer, he said "these a holes just cheered when announced chubb was down!" Couldn't believe.

It happened. Some Tennessee fans were cheering. Especially when the announcer made the announcement that Chubb was down. I was sitting around many fans(not all) that cheered. UGA fans called them out and the UT fans were laughing about it. I saw it. You guys can say it didn't happen all you want, but it did. I thought those fans were jerks at that moment when the score was 0-0. I thought they were jerks when we were up 24-3 and I think it was wrong now that we lost. Not being a sore loser. I saw it, and heard it. And they were wrong for doing that.
I know we've got our bad fans too, but that was pathetic. And you guys saying it didn't happen are incorrect.

The cheering was because Georgia gained little yardage on the play.

Tennessee players were injured throughout the game. Fans of both teams continued cheering. You're just sore because your team lost. Grow up.

I KNOW WHAT I SAW AND HEARD PERIOD.DOT., NOT TO MENTION IT WAS A LATE HIM TO BOOT, PLAYER EARNED HIS MONEY TODAY...........

You saying late hit??? Because he was hit in the field of play and it was a very legit tackle. In addition, most of the crowd couldn't see him still down on the sideline. The cheering was from the tackle for little or no gain. No one wants to see any player injured.

open your eyes and look at the video again, i'm not talking about the player that made the great tackle in bounds i'm talking about the punk who laid an extra lick on him 3 yards out of bounds and possibly caused the injury or I guess you just block out the part of the video you refuse to see, learn to watch a replay and quit worrying about being a sore loser, you won, we lost it happens but late hits by some of your punk players is uncalled for, but that's the ut way, bunch of losers, maybe it will happen to one of your players later in the year and you will change your tune, but I doubt it, once a sleaze program, always a sleaze program do whatever it takes to win, the Tennessee way disgusting.......

One of our players, Shy Tuttle, was injured as a result of a cheap shot delivered by a Georgia player. While I see Tennessee fans on various websites expressing concern for Chubb, I have yet to see the first Georgia fan say anything about Tuttle. You're a bunch of whiney sore losers, and perhaps the only fan base in college sports who loses with less class than ours.

Are you blind to the fact that the contact was initiated within the field of play? If Chubb had a foot in the sideline at the time the contact was initiated, I would wholeheartedly agree that it was a bad hit even if it had been our player hurt. Think you need to go back to the :40 mark in the video in the thread and you will see that the 2nd player did legally hit Chubb while he was still inbounds. You're just wanting to see what you want to see and ignore the fact that it was a clean hit and not below the waist like your OL did to Tuttle.

Now if you want to have a fact based discussion, present your case accurately. But for the record, we never like seeing anyone injured for either team.
