does not get his arse over to Athens immediately to get to work.

You can't serve two masters - Kirby needs to go all-in.

He should honor his responsibilities to his previous employer first.

We are going to suck next year anyway. No QB and a completely new offensive line.

We struggled in short yardage situations, even before Chubb went down. But the run game was decent, overall. Something that can be improved upon, given the threat of a more vertical passing game, which we did not have and may not have next year, as well. I know we lose our tackles and Wynn is too small to be an SEC tackle, but you don't think Kublanow, Pike and Simms are SEC cailber guards/centers that you'd find anywhere except perhaps Alabama?

You better get right with the Ginger Jew...he's gonna PUNISH all those that oppose him...

I like him too. He's ornery. I think the middle three of the O-Line is passable. Theus was a good tackle, but Houston looked more like a Guard. Wynn is 275 lbs or thereabouts. Take a look at Arkansas' or A&M's or Alabama's O-Line. Their tackles don't look like ours. I guess we conditioned to play faster, but didn't have the QB to run a quicker paced offense. Looking back on it, I conclude that Murray, as good as he was, was still undervalued as far as how much he meant to the team. Gurley was phenomenal and carried us for a while and Chubb did for a while, as well, but when all three were out of the mix, we were barely better than average, primarily on the strength of the D.

We will be excellent on defense and there is talent on defense.

I think We'll have a vertical passing game if We hire Helton. Both of Our QBs on roster have the arm for the types of throws WKU thrive on.
Of course it's a matter of consistency. I think Helton talks TO players similar to Mike Bobo. Schotty never seemed able to really connect.

I read on this site that McGarrity basically forced Schottenheimer on Richt. The offense was the choke point this year, especially the second half of the season. I'm at a loss to explain why more capable OC's wouldn't have wanted to come here, given what Bobo and Richt had accomplished on the offensive side of the ball.
I watched WKU yesterday. Exciting offense. Hope Helton's the guy. Heard a plane traveled from Bowling Green, KY to Athens last week.

I'm not writing off the Dawgs next year just yet. We have Sony and Chubb back and I'm expecting better QB play. I think Smart will lock down Eason. I just think there is a lot of continuity with the program with Smart coming in.
