I listened to the Vance / Dana Bash interview. Couple of comments

• I had no problem with Dana Bash leading with the dog / cat story but they stayed on it for 15 minutes, totally unacceptable and intentional
• Although I do NOT think Vance made up the story, not sure he nor Trump should have used a assertion made to Vance via a constituent as a point of reference, the over running of Springfield Ohio by Hattians via the Biden / Harris Boarder Policy would be good enough.
• Dana Bash used the “racial” argument on why she had follow up questions on this issue and not doing follow up questions to Harris. An assertion made against Hattians does not make it racial. That’s a big jump and certainly not an excuse on why you didn’t do follow up questions on the other candidate.
• She actually asked had Vance ever been to SpringField Ohio, he said hundreds of times, her follow up was in last few days? What does that matter.
• Editorial comment, a family member of mine lived with a Hattian male at college in an apartment in last few years. Individual was very nice, but his diet was completely different than ours, he purchased whole chickens, duck and geese at times for his meals. So don’t think it’s a right-wing conspiracy to assert some Hattians may have been catching geese at pond for their meals. If they are, good for them, I hate geese, they are a nuisance.
• I’m not a friend or foe of Dana Bash, but a real bad look for her trying to twist Vance’s words and then fact check him on several of his rebuttals.
• You can’t have one standard for follow ups and fact checks for one party and a completely different set of standards for another party.
• Overall I think Vance did fine on this interview but entire subject as it was addressed in this interview got Trump no more votes so it was a waste of his time. Suspect that was intentional by CNN as well. (For Record, CNN has been fairer to Trump and Vance than all of the major networks with exception of Fox and NewsNation)

Couple of comments :

1. So there was a police report to the fact, more than a social media post. Regardless it should have been vetted
2. As I said in the original post and all would agree, highlighting the issue in Springfield Ohio would have been much wiser than going down the Hattian cats / dogs. Should have stuck with Geese, no one would have cared, and it would have been most likely true.
3. This was a foolish mistake by Vance, and first one i have seen him make. Cotton wouldn't have made this mistake, reason Trump should have picked him.
4. I wish media would hold Walz to near same standard they hold Vance, the entire military record and mention of Afghanistan is more similar as appalling if not more. Walz is a complete idiot with no substance, just your crazy Uncle
5. Vance will do very well against Walz in the debate if CBS treats it anywhere close to fairness, that being said, VP debates are meaningless

100% agree with the highlighted point.

Not sure this is his last chance, i tend to think he would win in 2026 again in Ohio if he chooses, but no he couldn't get the Republican Presidential Nomination if Trump loses this time. I'm skeptical he would get the Republican Nomination in 2026 if Trump wins but he might be the favorite.

If Trump loses in 2024, then Cotton / Kemp / DeSantis / Youngkin would be the favorites for sure and I like all of them more than Trump or Vance or Haley. I think DeSantis gets a bad rap from Media because he took some swings at Disney and remained standing. Surprised he didn't do better this year in Primary, i was prepared to vote for him. Kemp is going to run for Senate in 2026 and win easily.

The 2020 ballot harvesting got Ossoff and Warnock in the Senate. Dems got 93% or so of the same voters out in the runoff as they did in the General. Unprecedented, and had to be aided. Highest normal rate was in the 75% range.

I tend to agree with you on Warnock. He is making more money than he could ever imagine and he isn't going to do anything to screw it up. There were several candidates (Black or Collins) that would have beat him in 2022, but he will be hard to beat in 2026 as you said. He'll be a multi millionaire by then like many of his Senate Colleagues, crazy how folks get rich in Washington only making $ 200K per year, and that applies to both parties.

Up to the cat / dog story, have been fairly surprised at how good Vance has done on the campaign trail. He is quick on his feet and has a fairly good message. He and Cotton do a good job of cleaning up after Trump and win the Sunday morning battles against hostile Liberal interviewers. How the folks in Ohio like him, no idea. Probably less after last week for sure.
