I know everyone is writing this one off as being a possibility (as am I), but after watching some of his film and mix tapes, I really hope we land him.
Giddens is exactly what Fox has never gotten in his tenure here. A highly ranked post player with legitimate or close to legitimate NBA size and athleticism. He has played on great teams with great players, and he has played against great teams with great players. He is a basketball player and not just an athlete. Although, he could use a little work on his touch and overall offensive game.
He would be a HUGE pickup IMO. He appears to have a bit of an attitude or mean streak when he plays, which I like. Our team could use a little more grit and aggression.
Giddens is also what we need when we play teams like Texas A&M, Florida, and Kentucky. He can match up against their size and athleticism.
By the time he could play for us, it will be his 3rd year in college, so he should be much improved and more mature by then. Giddens would be a great insurance policy if we lost Maten early, and if he doesn't leave early, our front court will be scary good Maten's senior year.
