He's not Monken but the continual threat of Monken leaving was getting a little old.
Here's Kirby's first staff:
OC Jim Chaney(we are much better here)
DC Mel Tucker(hard to say I'd say slightly better here)
OL Sam Pittman(hard to say we are better here now just because Pit was so good)
TE Shane Beamer(we're better here especially in recruiting)
James Coley WR(hard to say he was a terrible OC but a serviceable WR coach)
Dell McGee RB (I would say that Dell is betternow than when he started just because he has more experience)
Tray Scott and Schumann(like McGee they are more experienced than in 2016 glad we could keep them they developed nicely)
So we have 3 of these guys who went on to become current HC's in Beamer, Tucker, and Pittman.
Everyone else not a head coach is doing the same job, except for Schumann(co-DC) right?
Interesting that we had 3 graduate to HC jobs but now have 2 who were head Coaches at the time in Bobo and Muschamp now coordinators at UGA. The ultimate hope is that Muschamp and Bobo hang around to keep some valuable continuity at the coordinator position.
