So what happened? Losing Cam, Morris, and JP took away some good experienced depth. DO's injury slowed his progress and none of the freshmen stepped up.
But it is KG and CM that may get CMF fired. We have been waiting for these great guards, along with JJ, to get us over the hump. But what happened? We have seen spurts of great play, but neither has consistently lead the team. Usually one or the other is MIA at many of the games. Their numbers are not bad - for freshmen, sophomores, or even juniors. But these are our senior leaders. They should be the foundation, and everyone else fill in from there.
Maybe they didn't have the talent we thought they had. Maybe they didn't work hard enough to improve over the 4 years, Maybe the assent of JJ took some of their game away. Maybe the coaches scheme was wrong for their game(but I can't come up with one they would excell at).
If we were losing games because of no scoring in the post, or bad defense, or lack of rebounding - I could understand it( I know they are all factors). But I have a hard time understanding why we are losing games because of too many turnovers, inability to run the offense to get a shot, and the inability to make a big basket in crunch time! That's what quality, senior guards are supposed to do for you.
