made the Final 4 when I was in school, had a top 5 recruiting class by John Guthrie in the middle 70's and have constantly screwed up since our Final 4 team. Sky Walker from Crawford County was coming to replace Nique. Just as fast he was gone. Funny, I rarely ever watched the tonite show but I remember Digger Phelps was on and said, "watch out for Georgia" in the mid 70's. It was right after the SEC started recruiting black players and Tony Flanagan, Lucius Foster, Charlie Dorsey and Jacky Dorsey may have been on that team. Walter Daniels was right behind them. Lavon Mercer came in but always seemed to have the bad knees. He was out of Metter GA. Long and blocked shots.Studs. I remember we lost Mike Mitchell and Myles Patrick out of Georgia to AU. We have more upside than AU if we commit to winning. I have more people asking me about UGA basketball than ever. I think we will support a winner and damn sure know the talent is in state to do it.
