All avoidable if he just would have complied with the officer. But, of course, he was drunk and stupid.

Any cop worth his weight in doughnuts should be trained well enough and have the temperament to deal with drunks. It's something that comes up many times over a field officer's career. If every drunk person who loses composure and misbehaves was killed, the booze industry would dry up in no time.

I believe the officer verbal commands were ignored and he resisted . However the extra blows were a bit much . That what got him .

If everyone officer let a person ignored verbal commands and didn't stop then crime will be sky high .

The officer was over the line back behind the line and back over and that what got him .

ESPECIALLY in a college town.

The kid was polite to the other 2 cops who didn't spray or beat him.

Hmmm! Looks to me like the kid should have obeyed the officer. I think everyone would have been better off if he did. At the point where citizens start resisting law enforcement, then society has a serious problem. I think we're seeing this play out before our eyes.

There sure a lack of disrespect for law enforcement. Someone asked me why I thought that was , I believe YouTube the problem because there clips on there that says you don't have to show us your DL or roll down your window . However there many factors that are not considered. That a big issue .

You also have website call cop blocker that gives people the idea they can do as they damn well please .

I been around LE about 14 years and yes there been bad cops I seen and when I say bad I don't mean dirty .

Media and people are ready to throw officers under the bus and stir up stuff . This officer was wrong . He wasn't wrong trying to arrest him but his action during were . Was he wrong hitting with the baton no but up to a point . The shot to the head was the wrong one then one more after that .

Is this officer a bad guy probably not . He let four seconds end his career .

I hear ya! However, the lack of disrespect for authority from this kid is disgusting. I could never see my two boys resisting an officer like that. Spoiled punks seem to do that, though, and deserve the consequences. Ya'll have a tough job these days. Not sure why ANYONE would sign up for it.

Someone posted this cop should have known how to deal with a drunk college kid and my responds is , every drunk is different and this kid turns out had two IDs , anyone notice that ?

There enough blame to go around but this officer cross the line and will probably face a civil rights charge and a civil suit as well .

But this is the time we live in there no respect for LE and that's ok. We come running when we are needed :

BS, people are to weak to walk away from the sauce, regardless of the consequences.
