I'm of 2 minds, I sort of despise the old ball sack, but he sure added spice to the game over his career.
Anyway, nobody died and it was interesting, best of luck in retirement you old SOB.

I wonder if he's sick with cancer or something. crazy that he'd bail mid season like that, on top of the state of SC going through a natural disaster too

He was clearly hobbling and weak looking near the end of Our game with SC last month. It occurred to Me he might have been subconsciously faking it to suggest that's the reason they lost so badly.
I can only speculate though. Would I be surprised if he just couldn't face the specter of losing to UGA 3 or 4 more times at the end of his career ? not really. Then again, he could really be sick.
There is something sad about seeing enemies grow old. Besides being a dick he seemed to be fairly honest compared to many HCs too. He never got caught cheating big and He never was really implicated in a big scandal.
The SOB could flat out coach.

I'm surprised he didn't finish out the season. The train was really coming off the rails over there. You could hear it in all his press conferences he really didn't care very much any more so I'm assuming that's why he quit. Not sure who SC gets after this but I expect some tough years for SC.

Have no clue who we'll get. Would love to take a serious look at the heads at Houston, Memphis, Utah and Toledo.

Houston's Tom Herman may well be the next great HC. He might be the only certified genius coaching college football, he is a MENSA member.
He is the guy who managed to have 3 QBs play Heisman level football in the same season for Ohio St last year, culminating in his 3rd string QB winning the tourney and tourney MVP honors.
There is one question I have, he seems very tight in interviews, can he take the pressure over time ?

Absolutely couldn't stand him at UF. Not because they were winning, but they were complete jerks. Such as, one year, when all our guys were in a circle praying after the game, Gators were circling them shooting birds at them. Spurrier when asked about it later said " I didn't see it, they're just having fun." Didn't like it one bit. He DID come back a couple of days later and apologized.

But I did like his honesty. Called them like he saw them and didn't care. Plus, loved some of his jabs. He was to jabs, what Dooley was in finding something GOOD to say. Will miss that. He was funny.
