We had 3 practice games and a dozen extra practices for/in Spain . I had an argument with a former poster on this site that we should use these games as hard-core "get ready" sessions, and he argued that this is a great time for the kids, a chance for the asst coaches to coach and have fun, etc.
But I want so bad just to say I was right. We needed Spain to be a "junction boys" moment. If you don't like that, take on the "Miracle on Ice" team. But we clearly have not established any identity so that if JJ or Yante struggle, we can figure out a way to win a game. I said earlier today that CMF has a history of losing to teams in the range of "just worse or equal to us" to 125th in the country. This was one of those games. If you have a team that believes in each other, and would jump in front of a bullet for each other, then you don't lose this game. But we seem dysfunctional at best. There is no feeling of unity like we saw from Oakland.
We have more talent than arguably any other time in CMF's era, and they are all his guys. So where is the unity. I was so shocked when we came out like a dud against Clemson. Anyway, on to the SEC (and Texas). We should be so much better than we are at this point of the season. It will be a miracle now to finish this season on any kind of a positive note. Maybe there will be a tornado in Nashville in March.
(Sigh)
