yes, he is a polarizing figure, but we need someone with an edge and who isn't a "yes man" as our next BB coach. Grant and Miller I'm sure are fine basketball coaches, but Miller has been at his current mid-major gig with just above a .500 winning percentage and has finally made the dance in his 7th year, that just doesn't convince me and I think its a big risk. Grant has a career conference record in his 4th year of 39-33, and he like Miller is making his first ever NCAA tournament. There just isn't a record of any sustained high level of success so both would be a higher risk, IMO, but it very well could resort to that. We just showed we are willing to pay for a topnotch guy, we offered Matta 15 mil over 5 year, lets go out and find the next best guy available in that price range. We have trudged through the last 14 years with mid-major guys, I'm done with that route, and we saw what how successful you can be when you hire a proven guy ( Harrick), and before you start hollering "Cheater", it was petty crap that we threw ourselves under bus, and keep in mind, if it werent for Harrick, we probably don't have Jonas on staff right now. There are still legit candidates out there, I hope& pray they we are actively aggressive in this search right now, we don't nor should we have to settle.
