It's time folks! GHSA football is getting cranked back up and the UGASports staff will be out and about seeing prospects and collecting notes, footage, and interviews.

There are several Georgia targets taking part in scrimmages tonight. Each Friday UGASports will attempt to provide a snapshot of the talent around the state that Georgia is after and the games they're playing in.

Cedar Grove @ Buford

Buford

Georgia seems to be very much so in the thick of Pope's recruitment after Pope visited Georgia on the last weekend in July. Also, a public announcement was supposed to have already been made by Pope at this point. The longer the recruitment goes, the more likely that Pope ends up in Athens, IMO. The question is, how many more DBs does Georgia take in 2022? It is two or three?

A tremendously talented rising sophomore, Bolden gets a chance on a big stage to follow up an impressive summer and 7-on-7 circuit with the pads on versus studs on the other side tonight.

Cedar Grove

Georgia still hasn't done enough here for me to change my futurecast from USC back to Georgia, but momentum is building for the Dawgs. The recruitment of defensive tackles has gone in cycles it seems in the Class of 2022. Georgia does not have a ton of momentum with Travis Shaw or Walter Nolen right now. Bear Alexander is 50/50 Georgia & A&M at best. UGA has picked up their recruitment of Miller of late for sure.

Lee is an extremely gifted corner. There should be plenty of opportunities in this one to see Lee match up versus the speed of Isaiah Bond, Florida commit and track star. Lee is high on Georgia and Ohio State right now. The 2023 defensive back will have a lot of options to choose from, but defensive coordinator Dan Lanning and defensive back coach Jahmile Addae for Georgia invested a lot of time in Lee this summer.

One of the fastest risers and the most talked about names of the summer, Madden gets a chance to lay down some impressive film against Buford. Cedar Grove is likely to use Madden both at inside and outside linebacker in this contest. UGASports will have footage up on the site on Saturday at some point. Madden has multiple futurecasts to Georgia.

Kell @ Rome

Green is still largely an unknown. The rising junior had some impressive film last season, but Green does not participate a lot in the camp circuit. Georgia offered Green when the Rome team came to Athens this summer. Green is very quick to be 6-foot-4 and pushing 270 pounds. The Rome defensive lineman is in store for a big season.

2024 QB Reece Fountain - set to be a longtime starter and put a lot of numbers up before his run is done in Rome. Visited Georgia multiple times this summer.

Collins is a freakish Athlete that will catch plenty of passes from Fountain and should be disruptive on the defensive side as well.

Lee County @ Colquitt County

A monstrous defensive tackle that will be a household name before too long.
