"Based on a true story/actual events"

How many other phrases does Hollywood or media in general use to make us "assume" that the representation to follow is nothing but actual and complete truth? Do we ever hear "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" in any form? No, we do not. Not even in the courtroom, where one can be jailed for lying (aka leaving out facts) under oath. We could all use a heaping dose of oath meal.

I'm not sure what else you'd expect from a movie or tv show other than entertainment

My actual target is media's penchant for entertaining/shocking us first then informing us later if ever, "based on facts," selected for content and never complete. Also we the people have our own penchant for preferring elaborately framed misdirection over simple/boring truth. We get what we want and then bitch about it all.

The only "truth" that some of these movies represent is the truth that there will be a segment of the populace believing every word and scene.

There are three sides to every story the one, the other, and the truth. I think that is why our Maker has us bouncing off each other. Relationships require you to look outside of yourself and your perspective for the truth. If you dont, you're going to be the loneliest MF on the planet. You don't really have a choice. Well, you do, you can take the cowardly way out...suicide.

Are You kidding ? ''inspired by'' is more honest than ''taken from'', and worse.
I don't really care because I know it's about selling tickets and it's usually some stupid ghost story.
Every now and then something like JFK irritates Me though.
