We tried like hell to give it away, going 0-9 from the FT line at one point, but we're able to hold on with some good defensive play and timely rebounding down the stretch. We also played some zone at points in the game. KPG made one great defensive deflection off a sideline inbounds with about 17 seconds to go in regulation that prevented Arky from having the last shot. Probably saved the game. But this was the JJ and Maten show. There were several things I didn't understand about the game, like why we had JJ on their best perimeter scorer rather than KG or why we were subbing KPG in on defense and Kessler in for offense the last couple of minutes, but it worked out.
Interesting game tonight, I thought.
