Since 1978 when Hugh Durham took over, Mark Fox has more 17+ loss seasons than any other coach in UGA history. Felton only had 2. Hugh didn't have a single season with 17 or more losses.
Fox has 3 seasons with 17 or more losses, despite inheriting an incredibly talented team from Felton. Hugh Durham never had a season where he lost 17 or more games in 17 seasons. Just figured that having 3 seasons with 17 or more losses in only 8 years, by Fox, more than any coach since Hugh, was a good counterpoint to all of those 20 win seasons.
Maybe Mark Fox isn't the greatest UGA basketball coach ever and maybe this isn't the pinnacle of our history. I know a lot of people think he's a great coach, maybe better than Coach K, but I don't know how that can be, since he loses a lot of games with really good talent.
