1. Jabri has gone to the free throw line 27 times this year. He has hit 23 of them for 85%. Nice. It hasn't even been in late game situations either where the other team was trying to foul. So, he has been semi-aggressive and its been good to see. Keep it coming. We only have one other person to hit double digits in free throw attempts (Silas Demary 9 for 12 for a good 75%).
2. Blue Cain aint scared to shoot. He has gotten up the most shots on the team in 2 of the 3 games. In the Oregon game, despite being 7th in minutes played, he had the most shots attempts by two more than the next guy on our team. In the North Carolina Central game, despite being 5th in minutes played, he got up for four more shots than the next guy. I don't mind it at all. His percentage isn't there right now but I think it's coming.
3. Silas Demary is third on the team in rebounding (4.7 per game) and is lapping the field in steals (2.3 per game). He has more total steals (7) than total turnovers (4)
4. Dylan James is tied for 4th on the team in offensive rebounds with 3. This despite only playing a total of 10 minutes all season. This might be something to watch as we have struggled on the offensive glass. Our leading offensive rebounder is Delaoch and he only has 5 total for the season.
Our overall shooting percentage is low right now for us, but we have at least three guys who have a history of shooting it very well (Jabri, Thomasson, and Blue). I expect us to heat up with those three soon (Jabri is kinda smoking now). If we can score, I like our chances. Also, can Blue and Demary adjust to the tape? Coaches are about to pick up on tendencies on all of our guys now that they have seen us play.. It's usually harder on freshmen, but I'm really interested to see how we handle it. I hope we stay aggressive and keep the screens going and the ball moving. I loved what I saw in the Wake game. Go Dawgs!
