A lot of people, including us, have short memories.
It feels like everyone has forgotten we signed the #1 class in America. No one has a group of more talented freshmen than us.
If feels like we have forgotten that Kirby Smart hasn't thrown a bad defense out there since about midway through his first season in 2016. (2020 we got gashed a few times -- but it is such a strange year that it hardly counts for anyone).
It feels like we have forgotten that Kirby has never rolled into a season with the #1 QB in America. And we've been pretty good without that.
It feels like need to be reminded of the absolute wars guys like Starks, Mondon, Everette, Williams, Brinson, Stackhouse, Chambliss, Truss, Rateledge, Delp, Smith and Bell have been a part of.
It feels like everyone (meaning pundits, opponents' fans, and some of us) are trying to convince ourselves that we'll absolutely have to take a step back. We can't continue to be as good as as talented. This reminds me of how we used to talk about Bama every, hoping to convince ourselves they can't roll out another group of animals on D and playmakers on O, then there'd be this group that had been sitting for a year or two that you've never heard of. We are rolling out there the following recruiting classes:
2017 - 11-1
2018 - 11-1
2019 - 11-1
2020 - 7-2
2021 - 12-0
2022 - 12-0
2023 - 12-0
Our enemies have been hoping for a long time that the run is over, but it ain't over as long as Kirby Paul Smart is on the sidelines.
I'll be nervous as all get out on Saturday. I do not care for Clemson, and the thought of a close game with them makes me nauseous, but I have feeling this group of Dawgs will show up ready to prove a point to everyone who has forgotten, maybe even me.
