and I feel like Dwight said below. I'm just getting numb and I guess it beats being angry, frustrated and disappointed.
Thing 1) we work hard, play well to get a decent lead against a good team at halftime and I can't remember the last time ( if ever) we came out sharp and built on that lead.
Thing 2) we put our opponents in the bonus early in the half...this time the 2nd half with 13:30 to play. That means we are in the hole big time already, especially if we continue to foul, which of course is more likely if we play mtm exclusively, which we do. I remember 5-6 possessions in the last few minutes when we were beat off the drive and went to help leaving someone open, usually Wade for a clean look. They might have scored vs zone, but not that way.
Thing 3) Turtle finally begins to look comfortable on the floor, makes some plays an then has a typical frosh turnover. Fox pulls him immediately and I believe he never hits the floor again.
Thing 4) incomprehensible lineup combinations that leave us with almost no scoring options at times when we are struggling to even get a shot.
Thing 5) not having even one out of bounds play that can get us a shot. Other teams do it regularly against us, but we struggle to even get it in bounds much of the time.
Thing 6) zone thing again...not realizing that Kessler, KPG and it appears Wilridge, at this point, can't guard anyone mtm
There were good things in this game for sure, mostly in the first half KG, Yante, Edwards had some moments, JJ, Turtle. Our help defense was actually working most of the time. And I know that HK's numbers weren't bad, but what he gives up defensively, especially when it matters, tends to cancel it out.
