whatever happened to loyalty , perseverance , rising to a challenge?
or do you think only about whatever you want, at just that minute?

In business, the only person you should be loyal to is yourself. If you think otherwise, you've already lost.
While I disagree with your premise, in this case Richt has had the loyalty of MOST fans, but it seems the time is nearing where change is necessary.
That said, all good business people value loyalty.
Sure, they value loyalty until that loyalty means it's either them or you. Take for example the 1980s - back when folks who believed in loyalty were nearing retirement age. Do you know what happened? Their loyalty was rewarded with being let go just ahead of their retirement date. No one is going to watch out for your career better than you. The moment you entrust your future & success to someone else, you've lost control.
Still, business people know they need the loyalty of those around them. They also know hard decisions have to be made, and that often means letting good people go, or moving them to less demanding positions.
In my opinion, loyalty is the wrong word. I need folks around who compensate for my weaknesses. Do I trust them to make the right business decision? Sure - but that's where it ends. If someone chooses to offer me their loyalty, it's exactly that - a choice. The point is, there shouldn't be any expectation of anything in return.
If a person is so self-involved that his opinion weighs more than the well-being of our football program,
we are in trouble. If that person is our AD we are in double trouble.

at least you admit to bring weak,,,,perhaps you're the problem not everybody else's loyaltyIn my opinion, loyalty is the wrong word. I need folks around who compensate for my weaknesses. lets think about this, cmr was a quarterback in hs , college, coached quarterbacks in college, or also, for 5 million he needs to get his act together, be a coach , show some balls, bench the offensive line, do something to show leadership, if desire not there get the hell out
players make playsThat's the problem. We're NOT seeing much effort on the field and that is the coaches fault. But I suspect you know this and are just trolling.
would you?So, if Mark Richt decided to retire at the end of the year, would you consider him disloyal?
players make plays

that's pretty amazing , moneybags ..... but I doubt itIn the 15 seconds it's taken me to respond, I've made more than you do in a week, Richard.

I don't lose sleep about the pretend money you make , but clearly you make very little if you go around even thinking, much less saying , garbage like that.Whatever helps you sleep at night...
Players definitely make the plays. When you have one or two players not executing then you have a problem with that player or two. When you have an entire football team not executing then you have to look at the coaching.

lots of nice guys in the world eh?Agree. We've had some of the best players, etc. over the last 5 or 6 yrs. Have nothing to show for it, so you have to look at coaching. That said, injuries and I still say, officiating has cost us games during these last few years on occasion. However, good coaches can get players to overcome that and CMR did in his first 6 or 7 yrs.
I'd like to say this.....many blame ADGM as well. There have been times over the past couple of years, where I felt things ADGM would say, were politically correct, but saying without saying "I basically have 2 hands tied behind my back. " In other words, like last week after UT or maybe it was Bama "I have full faith in the team." He COULD have said "I have full faith in CMR". He did not. For me, kind of read between the lines.
There was a time, before Mike Adams, the AD had lots of power. the Athletic Assoc As a non profit and athletics, not academics, etc. most decisions were recommended by Dooley and then approved by the AA board. (Prez mainly got involved if something big) Now, you've got the President involved and the BOR. WTH is BOR involved in athletic decisions? I understand real estate. They own it all. But the nitty gritty of things they should stick to academics which is what they were appointed to do. Adams must have known "where the bodies are buried". I don't know with all the embarrassment he caused UGA, some under handedness, etc. he survived, let alone managed to get the BOR involved in athletics. IMO, that's just not right unless, he survived, by letting them have a say so. But he's gone, Morehead needs to get them out. JMO.
Back to ADGM. I believe ADGM could be the best AD for UGA if his hands weren't tied. Afterall, he started under Dooley, rose to #2 at UF, so he learned what it takes to win. More importantly, he was born and raised in Ahtens, graduated UGA, as did his wife. His parents both worked for UGA. There is not a more "thoroughbred" Dawg we could have as AD. He would never want anything but the best. I think last year, he gave it one more shot (and probably with urging from outside sources mentioned above) to give CMR everything he wanted. more staff, pay upgrades, etc. And now..............CMR has had it all.....and hung himself with that rope. JMO.
I love CMR as a person, couldn't find a better human being. But there are many fine folks like him, who don't make near what he makes, but they have to do a good job, or else.
It is what it is.

i think when the chips are down is when you go out of your way to support the guy doing all the work...anything less shows an extreme lack of character.
him getting administrative items when he wants them as you note above is just what should be done anyway, not a bat to beat him up with when times are tough.
I think that most on here are interested in results. The horse that finishes last in a race is trying as hard as the winner. Mark just can't take that next step. We have all the resources, but he is not earning that 4m per year.Love the man but hope he is out ASAP.whatever happened to loyalty , perseverance , rising to a challenge?
