that our adminstration is so apathetic to success in basketball that they allow him to stay around with results that likely 75% of all division 1 coaches could obtain. It is his job to stay as long as he is allowed to, so at this point, the blame is not even on him, but on the AD.
Of course he is responsible for the poor product on the floor, but it is no different than what we have seen for years. I have accepted that bizarre rotations, average recruiting (overall and relative to SEC programs), a junior high offense, and overall stubbornness to change are what I will watch. Expecting him to change at this point is ludicrous.
This year will follow the same pattern it always does: start slowly (whether we have an egregious loss or not doesn't matter - you can tell the starting point for this team is far behind what it should be), improve during the season, and ultimately have it not matter as we fall short or any sort of goal that matters.
I don't dislike Fox as a person, not do I think he is a horrible coach. He is simply as average as it gets. It's hard to convince me how someone like Sharman White wouldn't recruit better, make better adjustments, and have an overall better product. I only mention him because he is an example of someone in state that would likely be an improvement and jump at the job; I'm in no way saying he would be the best candidate from a nation wide search - just saying that I think plenty of guys can do what Fox has, mainly because the bar is so low. Time for ADGM to tell Fox - "Win a game in the NCAA or pack your bags."
