I spoke to his high school coach earlier this evening. Dondrial Pinkins said the following:
"I spoke to him right after the injury an he told me he was ready to give it up. He said, 'Coach, I'm tired of it always hurting. I'm tired of always being in pain.' I spoke to some of the guys he used to play with and they said he was leaning that way too. I told Justin that it is hard to give it up cold turkey. Especially at his age. He was down."
"I just spoke to him about 30 or 40 minutes ago and that was a completely different conversation. He had enthusiasm. If that offense there gets rolling and I think if he is at 80 or 90 percent, he might come back. He is still on scholarship there. And it is still very early in the season; it's not even September yet. But Justin will only do it if he can give the University 100% of himself."
I asked it it fair to say a final decision has not been reached?
"You could say that."
