Said it is important to have local kids who have pride in repping the G for home state. I say this because there has always been a discussion around national vs local recruiting. I am a fan of getting the best players possible, but it is always better to have local kids if possible, and the 50% minimum Kirby said at least shows that he understands the concept of local kids. Sometimes the state may not have a good crop of players, so Kirby being King and all, he makes do(huge understatement). Of course, he wants the best player, but just thought it was interesting as there has always been good debate around this and hearing from him that it does have importance helps out.
