Opening Tip - Notes To Know Heading Into Saturday
» Georgia is 4-0 and will play its third roadgame of the season when it treks to Provo, Utah to take on the BYU Cougars. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT/4 p.m. ET Saturday at the Marriott Center.
» Saturday’s contest marks the third-straight year these two teams have met. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Cougars, 66-58, at the Radisson Thanksgiving Classic in 2015 and took an 81-51 victory in Athens a year ago. This is Georgia’s first-ever trip to Provo.
» Georgia has won its first four games by an average margin of 21.6 points per contest. The Lady Bulldogs have totaled 307 points, marking the most the team has scored through its first four games since the 2007-08 season. This year also marks the first time since the 2003-04 campaign that Georgia will play three of its first five games on the road.
» Early season success for the Lady Bulldogs can be credited in large part to a trio of newcomers -- freshmen Que Morrison and Gabby Connally and redshirt-sophomore Taja Cole -- who are three of Georgia’s top-5 scorers this season. Georgia’s veteran frontcourt combo of Mackenzie Engram and Caliya Robinson have also played well with Engram’s 13.8 ppg and 7.8 rpg to go along with Robinson’s 11.3 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
» The Lady Bulldogs have been unselfish with the basketball this season. Through four games, Georgia ranks first in the SEC in total assists (84) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4 with 84 assists and 61 turnovers). Individually, Cole is second in the league with 5.8 assists per game.

Robinson Moves Into Top-10 Of Blocked Shots List
» Georgia junior forward Caliya Robinson has moved into the top-10 of the Lady Bulldogs’ career blocked shots leaders. In just 61 games, Robinson has 128 blocks and needs 13 to move into a tie with Porsha Phillips, who had 141 in her career. Perhaps even more impressive is that Robinson has done this in just 61 career games. It took Tasha Humphrey (who is currently in10th place with 119) 126 games, while Anne-Marie Armstrong (in ninth place) recorded 122 blocks in 133 contests.
Freshmen Step Up At Crucial Time
» In the final 10 seconds of the game at Virginia it was two freshmen guards that stepped to the line and sealed the game for the Lady Bulldogs. Gabby Connally was fouled with just nine seconds remaining and sunk two-straight to put her team up 62-58. After the Cavaliers hit a long 3-pointer on the next possession, Que Morrison knocked in two-straight free-throws to give her team a 64-61 lead with five seconds remaining.
Morrison’s Debut Among Best For Georgia Freshmen
» Que Morrison’s 19-point effort in the season-opener against Wofford puts her name among a prestigious group of Lady Bulldog freshmen. Morrison’s total is the most for a Georgia rookie in a season-opening game since Tasha Humphrey scored 25 versus Furman at the beginning of the 2004-05 season.
Lady Bulldogs Unselfish With The Ball
» Even though it is still early in the season, Georgia ranks among the SEC’s best in assists (1st with 21.0 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (4th at 1.4). The Lady Bulldogs’ guard play has been aided by transfer point guard Taja Cole, whose 5.8 dimes per game ranks second in the league behind only Morgan William from Mississippi State. And it’s not just the guards who are unselfish ... forward Caliya Robinson actually has 13 assists this year -- a total that ranks in the top-15 of the conference.
Robinson Rises Among League’s best, Named Preseason All-SEC
» Caliya Robinson, a 2016 SEC All-Freshman Team selection and 2017 SEC All-Defensive Team honoree, returns for her junior season as one of the league’s best scorers, rebounders and shot-blockers. She enters her third year in Athens ranked among the SEC’s top-10 returning players in all three categories. Recently, she was named to the Preseason All-SEC Second Team in a vote by league coaches and was named to the Katrina McClain Award Watch List, which recognizes the top-20 power forwards in the nation.
Georgia’s Clark Already A College Graduate
» A three-time selection to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Haley Clark graduated in just three years and received her diploma from UGA during graduation ceremonies this past May. Clark received her bachelor’s degree in business and finance and is pursuing a master’s in financial planning. One of her career goals is to work in corporate finance and help other athletes with financial planning.
A native of Orlando, Florida, Clark was Georgia’s starting point guard in each of the team’s 31 games last season. She ranked in the top-5 in the Southeastern Conference in assists per game during league play, averaging 4.7 per contest, with 122 total for the season. On a roster that featured just eight scholarship players, Clark played close to 33 minutes per game after starting just four contests in her previous two seasons combined.
