Can we now get off the politics? Thoughts on the new starting QB at Georgia?

I see Lambert and Ramsey taking snaps virtually equally, with Bauta about half as many. Sorta like a 2:2:1 system.

Says more about BR than Lambert to me. Imo.

Agreed. If the 2nd string guy at a bottom-tier ACC school can come in and win the job over a guy that's been in the system for 2+ years, something is just flat wrong - either his HS evaluation or coaching once he got to campus.

Yep, winning the job from Ramsey in just 3 weeks pretty much says all you need to say. How is it that Georgia is in this position to begin with?

What a dick quote - Either the HS eval wrong, or coaching wrong - Richt has lost control of his QB. Just like Obammie screwing up - wouldn't have happened had Richt not been at UGA. You gonna blame Saban for Coker not stepping up?

It seems Ramsey's problems are mental. If you knew what you were talking about, you'd understand that being able to solve college football isn't the same as HS football. Decisions at the college level are different than the HS level. If you knew what you were talking about you'd acknowledge UGA's ability to develop college QBs. If you knew what you were talking about.

I have to trust the coaches on this one. They see the players everyday in practice and know if they can make the reads and the throws. It's a clean slate here. It doesn't matter that he was at an ACC school. If he stumbles Plan B may have to be implemented.

Slow down scooter. Player development and evaluation is inclusive of the mental part of the game as well - but of course you knew that. It's all about being able to connect and reach a player. If the coaches can't do that - and they clearly don't with everyone - then the player is going to have a difficult time developing. It's not a blame game - it's part of the coaching business. No one said Richt can't develop QBs. No one is placing blame. The fact that none of the QBs recruited since Murray have panned out can't just be bad luck - there is something else to it. If coaches did a great job of evaluating and developing everyone, we wouldn't have the Mudcats and the Millers to talk about. Calm down, think rationally, and stay away from caffeine - you're another meltdown away from an aneurism or heart attack.

Richt hinted in an interview about a week back that BR did not prepare last year like he should have given the fact that the other guy was the starter. To me that meant last year and even the spring was a bust for BR. That means he and Lambert were on equal footing at the start of camp. Lambert's experience paid dividends. What stands out more is the fact that Schotty don't play that game of whoever has been here the longest is the starter.

The Creature Comforts Tropicalia in my fridge will be cold and the picuture definition on my flat screen will be excellent on game day regardless of who starts at QB.

Too bad they haven't been able to develop an SEC championship in 10 years, much less play for a NC. I think that is what we really care about. But oh, that's right. If you are Richt apologist, there are more important things than winning football games. You Richtbots crack me up!

You should jump on the Ohio state bandwagon, they are winners. Pulling for Georgia is just plain silly, right?

Just because I'm not a Richtbot doesn't make me any less a fan. You keep betting on a losing horse, you will get another 10 years of Missouri playing for an SEC championship.

4 months ago he lost his job at Virginia as a senior. Doesn't speak to well of Brice.

I am not a Richt-bot. Seems like you would bitch about a blow-job from a supermodel. We have been there close to the national stage. As you know it takes great talent, skills, some lucky breaks( Tennessee got the fifth down vs. Arkansas to stay in contention of the national title.) Yes we want the title to come back to Athens. It's not like we haven't been in the ballpark, WE have. I think we can get there and I am not a Disney dawg, just a realist. We wiped the floor with Mizzu at their house and they did what it took to get back to Atlanta. We have the proper ingredients in place, we will have to see the season unfold and determine what the next step is, hopefully cleaning a shelf off in Butts-Mehre for a new National title trophy.

Start the best, regardless of who has been here the longest.. Score until the other team figures out a way to stop us. Stout defense, force turnovers, and win.

That's fine. I just don't think Richt has it in him. All arguments fail when you go 10 years without winning the SEC and you lose the East to Missouri two years in a row.

Well, I was discussing the topic started by someone talking about the QB. Wait. What? You mean..... wait, so...WHO STARTED THIS THREAD ON THE QB? Oh, dieharddawg62 started the thread on the QB?

If you stay on topic, you'll remember who started the discussion on the QB. If you care about a NC, then talk about an NC. If you want to talk about the QB, then talk about the QB. Stay.....On.......Topic.

Mason is the only QB to start after Murray, his stats prove our coaches get quite a bit from a marginal talent.
As for the QBs on roster, let's see how things play out before applying for disaster relief.

It's hard to say what will happen. I talked to some guys who coached high schoool in Cobb County after the Kentucky game where Murray got hurt. I asked them what they thought of Mason. They said he was a gunslinger and would be the real deal in the SEC and go on to the NFL. He turned out average and didn't make an NFL team. It seems like Lambert had some connection with the coaching staff that helped him earn the job. I think either guy that is in the lineup will be running a ton of play-action; lot of tight-end routes, ect. The first 2 games are a scrimmage; if we don't beat SC then this place will be a disaster.

I wonder if he is a Democrat? I will have to hate him if he is..................................................;)

I wonder if you a liberal. When you look at a coach because you like him and he's a Christian instead of winning or losing championships. That's how progressives look at things...winning championships and being the best you can be is unfair to the losers.

Winning is just luck and has nothing to do with the decisions that the HC makes. Mark Richt is ultimately responsible for everything that happens with the football team. If you think he is a championship caliber coach, then you are delusional. If you don't, then you are okay with being mediocre. That's okay, but don't call me democrat or not a true fan because I call a spade a spade. I bleed red and black. I just think we can do better with the talent in Georgia.

Just let us know you that's its okay because winning doesn't really matter. It's effort that counts...right?

Who is ultimately responsible for only having a QB with marginal talent?
