Let me take a moment to say if I've offended anyone...

well tough s....t. Here is my thought process for anyone interested.

I agree with everyone who thought the second half yesterday was an abomination. Actually, I felt the first half was nothing to brag about. We were fumbling around and unsure of ourselves from the getgo. We should have been up twenty at the half. Ark. did just enough to stay in it. And then we just fell apart in the second half. It appeared the effort was poor, which is surprising based on how hard this team has played all year. We seemed distracted, for lack of a better word. No focus. I have no idea why, but it happens sometimes. It can make the effort appear a lot worse than it is. That is not an excuse.

The overreaction on this board was not surprising. It goes with the nature of the beast. Many people get all fired up about polls, rankings, dancing etc. instead of understanding what a basketball season actually is. I understand it and should have more patience. I try to post things based on my experience in hopes it can keep things in perspective like last night's game. I was apprehensive and posted that right after the Auburn game. Our lackluster play made it the perfect storm.

I will say it again. We are 1/3 of the way through our sec season. Not even counting the sec tourney. Projecting out our final record is useless speculation, but have at it if you wish. What I do know is based on the season to this point every game is winnable by just about any team. Even Auburn has barely won at USC and our place. The only projecting I have done is when the question was asked of me what will it take to make the dance I offered 7-11 maybe, 8-10 definitely with a 6-8 seed. I'll stand by that.

As for my less than charitable response to the posts about our season is basically over, our coach can get screwed, he and the team are losers; I say I have to question, not only your knowledge about what can happen during a season, but your loyalty to a team of young men, who yes are being compensated, but none the less are representing UGA. They have worked their tails off all year and I have been inspired by their effort and attitude. I have read many times here and on the vent that potential recruits, their friends, families, handlers etc. read these boards. If that is the case, I can only assume that posts like the ones saying we should pack it in at this point, our coach needs to be fired, our team and coach are losers just might have a detrimental outcome.

I am concerned with what has happened the last several games. I don't have answers as to why we cannot rebound at both ends as we were doing up until this point. I don't know why we were shooting FTs at an acceptable % most of the year and have lost two games largely because we cannot make them when they count. Our high post offense was ill-advised from the start and sec teams are able to exploit it's shortcomings. It appears we are transitioning to an extent. I hope we will add more uptempo as well.

I harbor no illusions about the challenges ahead, but I know we have the ability to get this thing going back in the right direction. We have the talent to compete. We had every opportunity to beat the #1 team in the country and get a much needed tough road win by making a handful of FTs. We didn't and we are where we are.

I want to see Absom get the minutes he deserves until he shows he can't be a solid contributor. I'd like to see Savo get some minutes to see if he can help at the point. Without knowing his situation as far as eligibility I am left to wonder why he is not getting some time.
