Life with a kidney stone is better when you have hydrocodone **

Junebug took me to the emergency room late one night. I didn't...

even stop at the check-in. I made a beeline straight through the swinging doors into the examination rooms, hollering, "I'VE GOT TO GET SOME RELIEF UP IN HERE...RIGHT NOW!!! They put me on an IV right away and eased my pain. Kidney stones HURT!

good for my back injury as well.

Even better with morphine

Hydrocodone did nothing for mine.

Same here, doc gave me demorol and then when it did nothing....

...he said he was giving me some vitamin M, I asked what was that and then he smiled and said Morphine. It was exactly what I needed that day.

Dang, I hope it passes quickly. Whatever happened to that deal I heard about years ago where they blow them up sonically?

They can't do that once it's left the kidney.

Only two ways to get rid of that bastard after its left the kidney; a) you pass it or b) they go in and yank it out.

Best male friend of mine had to have option b about 18 months ago. Not only did he say he hurt like hell after the procedure, but then he referred to using the restroom as "doing that razor blade thing" for the next two weeks. It made such an impression on him that he only drinks water and occasionally a beer now. He is terrified he might have another.

Damn skippy...

I'm good for a stone every year and a "major" stone...5mm or larger...every three years. Only problem with the hydrocodone is that I have to break them in half or they make me sick. For quick relief until the meds kick in get in a hot bath. Spent many nights in the tub while tryin to pass one of them basterds
