Phil Turner, retired Military and school teacher, passed today from complications off a lung operation he had in Savannah.After his military service he settled in Statesboro and taught ROTC,married a girl from Metter and they moved to Metter. Phil played college football for LSU and was on the team with Billy Cannon.He was a avid golfer and we played many rounds together at Willow Lake.Gonna miss him.
