Arnold Price was probably in his late fifties to early sixties when I first remember having seen him. I was in grade school so he was always an old man to me. He was a distant relative. He had long since moved away but would come back and visit his mother every now and again and I'd see him at church. The last time I remember seeing him was at his mother's funeral. He died a few days ago at 100. I was reading his obituary and had no idea.
Arnold Price was awarded our nation's Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Presidential Citation with three clusters, Combat Infantry Badge, French Crois De Guerre, France's highest honor. His Bronze Star was for meritorious service. In April 1945, Audie Murphy requested Arnold Price stand Honor Guard when Murphy received his Medal of Honor from General Bradley in France.
