Trenton Thompson and a host of other official visitors. Auburn, Alabama and Georgia will all visit Godwin this week, but look for Mark Richt to be in his house on Thursday Night.
Chris Williamson remains a big target for the Bulldogs. I have confirmed that Mark Richt, Brian Schottenheimer, and Jeremy Pruitt are at Gainesville High School this morning visiting the four-star defensive back. Georgia is pushing to knock Florida out of the official visit this coming weekend. If the Bulldogs could get Darius Slayton on campus this coming weekend it would help with getting Williamson as the two are good friends. If they are unable to do so, look for Williamson to take an official visit mid-week to Athens.
Darius Slayton is the name on the mind right now regarding Georgia commits. Following his trip to Auburn, he did not take interviews from media and that immediately threw up a red flag that the trip gave him something to think about. A big thing Georgia has working in their corner right now is his father, who really likes Georgia and wants his son to play for Mark Richt. Mark Richt also has an in-home visit, which will happen today. Mark Richt, Jeremy Pruitt, and Brian Schottenheimer will head over to GAC today after leaving Gainesville High to meet with Darius Slayton and planning on having an in-home tonight with Darius and family. Georgia will also push to get Slayton to Athens this coming weekend on an unofficial visit before National Signing Day. Auburn is making a run at him, but as I said last night, I believe Slayton sticks with the Bulldogs.
Nick Buchanan took his official visit to Georgia last night. Following the visit, Buchanan told me he was 100% committed to Cal as I reported last night......but did not sound like to me he was 100% committed. I asked him when he planned on having his final decision as to the school he would attend and he responded with "I have no idea". I believe Georgia will be back in his house this week and this one likely will not be over until National Signing Day. Will Georgia have a spot left on that day? Not sure at this point.
I continue to hear Georgia is trending for Maryland offensive tackle Pat Allen. Georgia has used their in-home visit with Allen, and Butch Jones has not. Georgia, Oklahoma, and Tennessee will all be in to visit him at some point this week, and I hear that Tennessee will likely hold their in-home visit until this weekend (likely Sunday night). Georgia seems to be the front-runner right now for the offensive tackle, but can they hold off the Vols?
QUICK HITTERS:
Preston Williams situation throughout the week but I believe Georgia will visit the four-star wide receiver mid-week.
WEEKEND EXPECTED VISITOR LIST:
Kirby Choates
*******Most official visitors will likely not be on campus till late Friday Night or early Saturday morning so they can watch the Superbowl at Richt's house Sunday night.
