Donte Jackson[/B]: I have been working on this all day and have been told a lot of mixed reviews. Georgia plans on having an in-home visit with Jackson tomorrow and LSU plans on being at his school on Wednesday morning. I am told that the LSU staff are "NOT" planning on being at the announcement. I talked to a source for a little while tonight that told me that "LSU staff does not feel comfortable about their chances following the official visit to Athens this past weekend." Jackson does plan on still taking his official to LSU this coming weekend no matter what school he chooses. At this point, I am not sure either staff is 100% confident in landing the talented four-star prospect. I was told that coming into the visit, Jackson's parents were very pro-LSU and wanted him to stay close to home, but following the visit that his mother loved the visit and felt comfortable with her son going to Georgia. From talking to multiple people today, and multiple people before his visit, I still feel Georgia has a very good chance with gaining Jackson's commitment on Wednesday morning.
Kareem Orr: Jeremy Pruitt is making a hard push at Orr late in the process. The three-star Tennessee prospect visited Arizona State this past weekend, and is down to Georgia/Ohio State contending for the last official visit on January 30th. Ohio State offered Orr over the weekend, but Jeremy Pruitt was in Orr's house tonight hoping to seal the deal on the official visit the last week in January. Right now, I am confident in Georgia securing an official visit.
Chris Williamson: Talked with several Gainesville people this weekend and all felt it would be an Auburn/Florida/Georgia battle for Williamson down the stretch. He is expected to take an official to all three schools in the next two weeks including a mid-week visit to Athens probably next week (27th-28th). I was told by a source that staying close to home was big for Williamson, and Pruitt is coming after him very hard. I believe Pruitt/Richt will have an in-home visit with him towards the end of this week or first of next week. I like Georgia's chances if Pruitt puts full court press on Williamson down the stretch.
Arden Key: A lot of people been asking about Arden Key as of late and I have been checking around to see. Right now, I am told Georgia is still in the mix, but Georgia doesn't lead. While Key is still looking for the right fit for him at the College level, Key has four SEC programs still in the mix including Auburn, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina. Watch the visits down the stretch and also see what happens with key targets at Auburn to see where Key stands. Georgia is still after the four-star edge rusher, but I am not 100% sure how hard the Bulldogs are pushing at this moment.
Pat Allen: I did everything possible to get everything out of Allen I could at the end of last week and still didn't get a good read on him. I checked around, and from what I gathered was at this time, Tennessee held a slight lead over the Bulldogs. I asked a source at Allen's school and told me that with Allen, it was all about relationships.......but the new offensive line coach needed to build a relationship with him quickly. If signing day was tomorrow, I feel Allen would sign with Tennessee, but Georgia has some visits to get back in it for Allen. I expect Schottenheimer and Sale to be back in Maryland this week or next to visit Allen.
QUICK HITTERS:
Former Clemson Tiger WR Demarre Kitt has yet to sign with any team following transferring. I do not believe he is a take for the Bulldogs at this point, but he is still available to sign with any team. He would have to sit out a year if transferring to another division one school.Venzell Boulware was on campus this past weekend and I am told it was an unofficial visit. I was told the visit went well, but we have not been able to track down Boulware just yet. Could a flip to Georgia happen here? Of course it could, but I think it would be closer to signing day if it happens. Nick Buchanan is one to watch this weekend moving into the weekend. We have confirmed that Buchanan will be on campus this coming weekend for his official visit and that there is A LOT of mutual interest here. California just hired an offensive line coach, but it will be interesting to see if Georgia can sneak in and pull him away.
