Little warmer today but I don’t think Coach Smart was complaining.
Here is what we saw:

…Arik Gilbert was at practice and participating without any obvious issue after being involved in an automobile accident earlier today.
…Defensive back Tykee Smith was practicing without any apparent problems. We had not seen Smith our previous two times at practice.
…It appeared Xavier Truss was getting most of the reps at left guard ahead of Devin Willock. Tate Ratledge continues with the first unit at right guard.
…The main core of wide receivers appears to be AD Mitchell, Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Jackson Meeks, Kearis Jackson and Dillon Bell.
Dom Blaylock, Mekhi Mews, De’Nylon Morrissette and CJ Smith the others.
…It’s looking like Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins was getting some first unit reps along with Jalon Carter and Zion Logue.
Much more to come….

Kearis Jackson did his best to get the team fired up. As the Bulldogs gathered for routes on air, Jackson yelled, “It’s game week!”

Arik Gilbert was practicing after being involved in a car accident earlier Monday.

The first team offensive line consisted of, from left to right, Broderick Jones, Xavier Truss, Sedrick Van Pran, Tate Ratledge, and Warren McClendon.

The second-team guards were Devin Willock (left) and Jared Wilson (right), with Warren Ericson at center and Amarius Mims at right tackle. Left tackle appeared to be No. 74, but that player is listed on the roster as Drew Bobo so that is likely someone in a scout team jersey.

Oscar Delp went third in the rotation at tight end. Arik Gilbert went fourth.

The running backs worked on catching passes, followed by a pass protection drill. The order appeared to be Kendall Milton, Kenny McIntosh, Daijun Edwards, and Branson Robinson.

At receiver, Mekhi Mews was practicing in a No. 7 jersey. That’s likely a scout team number for the week with Arik Gilbert already wearing No. 7.

The first three rotations at skill player routes on air were:

Ladd McConkey, Brock Bowers, Kearis Jackson, AD Mitchell

Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Darnell Washington, Dominick Blaylock, Jackson Meeks

De’Nylon Morrissette, Oscar Delp, Mekhi Mews, Dillon Bell

Stetson Bennett had a couple miscommunications with AD Mitchell. He threw one deep ball over the wrong shoulder that Mitchell didn’t come up with. The two then appeared to get crossed up on a route over the middle. Bennett did hit Mews on a nice deep ball down the seam.

Todd Monken was very animated today. He kept harping at the assistants to be very physical with the receivers as they released off the line of scrimmage.

DAVE McMAHON

I was basically roaming up and down the side of the field that we were allowed to and listened to coaches in case they said something worth noting

Bryan McClendon during wide receiver drills

"Boom Boom"
"Eyes up"
"Run with it"
"That's it! That's it!.... eyes up"
"After that move... now get more vertical"
"Two hands on it"
"Your fading too much"

He was giving also seen giving some praise to Rosemy-Jacksaint after a nice catch

Chidera Uzo-Diribe during outside linebacker drills

"Stay a little flatter"
"I want you to go where he's running at"
"You gotta stay under control"
"little faster... got to go faster"
"stay in control"

He gave some praise to Robert Beal

Todd Monken in the last few seconds I was there...

"Drive his A$$ F-in Down" but with the actual words
"Let's Go - Let's Go"

and as we walked out - you can hear Kirby

"Don't go walking on my field" and "Let's Rock and Roll" "Fast Fast Fast... "
as players were going station to station
(sounds like a common theme, since I heard Radi wrote this before as well)

PATRICK GARBIN

With the Bulldogs in full pads, the media was allowed to view periods two through four for a total of approximately a dozen minutes. To me, it seemed a bit more upbeat than previous practices we viewed during fall camp.

Initially intending to observe only the defense, I first noticed Oscar Delp (in a tight end catch-and-run drill) make a really nice grab of an errant throw down towards his shoe-tops. With ball in hand, the freshman tight end then nearly took out the staffer holding the blocking/body shield. I watched Delp for a couple more reps and admired his physicality.

As I viewed, Arik Gilbert took No. 4 reps behind Delp. As everyone else indicated, the transfer tight end seemed fine physically. At the same time, I noticed Mekhi Mews also wearing No. 7 (scout team). For what it’s worth, No. 7 for Oregon is 5-foot-8 Seven McGee. McGee, a backup running back last season, has been moved to wide receiver where he is expected to play a significant role for the Ducks. During fall camp, McGee mentioned he expected Oregon to be more explosive on offense this season compared to last.

The only black jersey I spotted was an unrecognizable No. 23—and likely a scout-team walk-on—who was not De’Nylon Morrissette or Tykee Smith. Speaking of Smith, he seemed to move well without any limitations.

Doing position drills, Malaki Starks and (who appeared to be) JaCorey Thomas made nice back-to-back interceptions.

With Tray Scott working with the interior defensive linemen, the rotation, for what it’s worth, was as follows: 1) Jalen Carter and Zion Logue; 2) Warren Brinson and Bill Norton; and 3) Nazir Stackhouse and an unidentified scout-teamer wearing No. 50.

For most of the final period, I viewed the same four-quarterback drill we observed a good bit during fall camp—where the four quarterbacks drop back simultaneously and each throws to a different quarterback. The rotation was similar to that mentioned above by Jed. In the little time I viewed, Stetson Bennett misfired on both of his pass attempts. Otherwise, Morrissette made a really nice catch of a long ball thrown by Carson Beck. Gunner Stockton, wearing No. 10, connected with Kearis Jackson with a really nice pass. During the heated drill, Todd Monken repeatedly instructed the wide receivers “to get fu**ing wide.”

As we walked off the field, and the players began to race to their next stations, Kirby Smart blurted, “Don’t be walking on my field! Fast! Fast! Fast!”
