DR thing stinks. Still I'm not going suicidal about a QB that won't start for 2 years (if ever). The truth is that momentum is a real thing, and right now things are not going our way. We need to have some major good news go our way soon, so things don't snowball. Kirby is better than ANYONE at having his finger on the pulse of his team...Total trust in that department.
So what stems the tide. One or two good wide receivers will help...but I still think we need a big splash at DT. Not a development guy, but an instant contributor that is looking to raise his draft stock. I think we all feel that if we sure up the line on both sides, then we can deal with getting another high level QB in the next year or two. Right now, even without DR, our QB room is pretty darn good.
If Kirby brings in 2 immediate starters in the middle and maybe another offensive lineman... we are back at the top. Problem is there are not that many immediate impact players at that position.
In this day and age...that all you can hope for year to year.
