white trash back roads of central Arkansas. My great grandmother was sold to a wealthy family at the age of 8 to serve the house. I have enough Indian blood to claim my land on the reservation. What sickens me is that the media and our apologist society has turned a blind eye to everything that doesn't involve blacks. Why are we the only nation in the world that insists on continually apologizing for a commonplace practice during the years before the industrial revolution? Slavery isn't a concept unique to the United States, and it sure isn't exclusive to a black & white relationship - but hey, whatever makes you feel better. Don't let the facts get in the way of the truth.

Do some research and you will have some facts instead of opinions. In 1999 the president of Benin apologized for his nation's role in the slave trade. In 2006 the government of Ghana apologized to American descendants of slaves. Several West African tribal leaders have apologized to African-Americans for their tribe's role in facilitating the slave trade.

Let me ask you a question. Why do black people cause you so much anxiety?

If I wasn't halfway through a bottle of Jack, I'd ignore the ignorance of your response. If you had one eye and half a brain, you'd understand what my post is conveying. Like I said, don't let the facts get in the way of the truth. I hope you die tonight of an atomic wedgie or Dutch oven.

What is ignorant about my response? You asked why the US was the only nation that apologized for slavery and I gave you some facts that don't fit your rant. You said that it "sickens you" that the media and American society turns a blind eye to anything that doesn't involve black people. When you say something like that, it gives the impression you have a physical or psychological upset about black people. Maybe you should express yourself more precisely.

Yeah, those are some serious countries. Real state of the art people. We should have a beer summit with them to figure it out.

Damn, you really have nothing. I thought you had some moxie. Evidently your vaginal sling is all twisted up. FYI, there's a class action lawsuit going on. Google it ****face.

Your nonsequiturs lack humor and are boring. Try another approach.
How close are you to a vagina? I'm curious, because if you don't have one yourself, I figure the closest one may be light years away. I wish you luck on your little shit dog space shuttle if so.

That wasn't his point at all, you idiot. You never addressed the real point, but instead focused on your liberal, spoon fed narrative.

The point is why does everyone (when I say everyone i mean liberals) focus entirely on the American black slave trade and pretend it is an original sin of America; the south in particular. Indians (Native Americans) and whites have both been slaves at some point in time, but you don't see us whining and crying victim.

I didn't know that American hadn't apologized?? Judging by the continued self-flagellation that goes on I assumed that that message would have been conveyed. If not, "I'm sorry people were enslaved in America".
Now, I don't personally know anyone who was a slave and I am not aware of my ancestors owning any slaves. Only a small percentage of wealthy people were able to afford a slave and we were not that. Not sure how I am expected to reimburse someone for something that didn't happen to them out of money I have earned that didn't benefit from that slavery.
I think what everyone is saying to you, is we have come a long way from where we were and at some point we have to be our own individuals. We can't continue to blame things in the past for our current failures. Blaming racism or slavery in modern life only shows a weak argument.

Native Americans have also been slave owners as well, so that's probably a point you would do well not to make.

Since the practice of slavery began almost coterminously with English colonization of the Americas (1619), you might as well call it an original sin of America, and the south especially.

I realize you are an amateur, so let me give you a little professional historical education. In almost every other culture besides that of the Caribbean and the American south, slavery was not a fixed condition. It was not lifelong and the condition was not heritable. Slavery as practiced in the Caribbean and the American south was far more insidious and brutal than was practiced by other cultures in other time periods.

You're area of expertise is clearly narrower than your mind..:

You can take your professional historian BS and shove it up your a$$! I can read and learn just as you have. You're not special, contrary to your belief.
Though not as prevalent as the south you can't ignor the history of the black slave trade in the Northern States (200 years of it). Your selective memory is revealing. Much white guilt?
Slavery is despicable whether it started with the Jews, white slaves of the Barbary Coast, Native Americans, or Blacks in America. You liberal loons like to focus on the southern black slaves because you believe it helps further your agenda. You're not fooling anyone here.

Let's not forget slavery was a key part of just about every pre-industrial civilization. But again, don't let the facts get in the way of the truth. Just go with the version of history that supports your precious little feelings and helps you sleep at night.
