After watching this weeks games and combining that with what I thought going in this is how I see the East finishing.
1. UGA- You all can look for any negative you want. We do not have the holes that others do.
2. Mizzou- The schedule will do them favors again, but they also lucked out with a lot of close wins that could've been losses last year. Won't be surprised if Cackalacky takes their place here.
3. SCU- No, it wasn't pretty, but it never seems to be in the opener for SCU. I think their defense will be better. I think their offense will be worse. They could possibly go anywhere from 3-5 to 6-2 in the conference.
4. Tennessee- Tennessee never stopped Bowling Green. BG fumbled a handoff inside the UTK 5 to kill a drive. The refs also blew a pass interference call on the goal line that would've set them up inside the 10 on another drive. Granted BG is known for their offense, but I looked and neither Wisconsin, nor Indiana had that much trouble with them offensively last year. UT ran for nearly 400 yards, but remember, they had to keep their starters in until halfway through the 4th quarter because the game was close. Also remember, Wisconsin did not have to keep their starters in last year and still ran for 600 yards with Melvin Gordon going for 200 plus and three others with over 90 yards. Aside from Vandy and Kentucky, the worst performance of the opening week.
5. Florida- I'm not gonna be shocked if UF finishes above Tennessee again. In fact, the only thing that would completely shock me is if they won the East. I don't think they will, but they could finish 2nd if JM really gets their offense rolling this year. I still think they are a year away though on that side of the ball.
6. Kentucky- La. Lafayette ran through them like water through a strainer.
7. Vandy- They lost to W. Kentucky. They covered the spread. Franklin would probably cry with what has become of Vandy, but he didn't look much better in week 1.
