My son and I made the 3hr trip to watch yesterday. Had great seats on Row E in section V. Here are my observations:
1. We are big. This team really has good size and length. Somto looks like something from a lab.
2. We are deep. I think our best lineup includes Silas, Leffew, Montgomery, and Asa. Somto or Abson at the 5. Was really impressed by Abson. He seems to have really good awareness. He’s definitely not the athletic mover as some of the others but he really has great timing and awareness as a rim protector.
So if that is the 5, on the bench is Lawrence, Blue, James, and Godfrey. That has to be as deep as we have been in a looong time
3. Montgomery can play. He plays with a swagger and confidence that is impressive. Really impressive player. Kind of guy we have needed. Can really slash and finish.
4. Lastly, the Steg gets a bad rap but it is a really nice arena. Thought it was a solid atmosphere considering opponent and time of year. Really looks good in there I think and is very comparable to other arenas in the conference and I have been to several.
