National champs are in color.
A few thoughts:
1) If you are not at least at 1.50, you're probably gonna have a very unceremonious exit from the playoff.
2) No team has won the playoff since the rise of super offenses with lower than a net 2.60 ypp.
3) If you have a net YPP lower than 2.00 and expect to take out a team with a net ypp well above that, you probably will need a Heisman type DT QB like Deshaun, Manziel, etc.
4) 2021 Georgia has the lowest Defensive ypp among playoff teams in the playoff era currently. With the teams left on our schedule, I would think that holds at least until the playoffs begin.
5) For all the ideas that there is no offense like Bama the last three years, LSU 2019 or OU 2017-2019, well 2021 Ohio State is making it's case.
6) The last team to win the championship with a lower YPP offensively than UGA was 2017 Bama.
7) Starting to think that OSU is probably our biggest threat. I know they've had defensive issues, but they do play in a conference where teams still play defense. Eight yards per play in that conference is significant. We'll see how that holds as they finish their schedule with solid teams (MSU, Michigan, and possibly Wisconsin)
8) I'm not saying OSU is better than UGA. No doubt even after saying that here, I'm gonna get blowback. But I do think they may be more dangerous than Bama. Bama has not shown the same explosiveness. On plays of 30 plus yards, UGA has actually been more explosive than Bama this year. From a talent perspective, both teams have better defenses than any we have played thus far outside of Clem's son. They have looked shaky at times, but also have looked good at other times.
