Someone suggested hiring an older coach with Jonas as head coach in waiting. The name given was Oliver Purnell. His record at Dayton and Clemson was pretty good and I think he made the NCAA Tournament a few times. The more I think about this the more I like it.
I had a chance to watch Kevin Keats team play College of Charleston last week while visiting in Charleston. He's pretty good - I was impressed by how his team played and how he coached them
If I were McGarity I would not involve former lettermen and "knowledgeable" boosters to compile a list of names. They will make their opinion known anyway. Basketball has changed so much since the 60's and 70's - these kids are playing a different game today
