Instead of acknowledging CMR and what he meant to Georgia he went out of his way to slobber over Saban and then he used the term "high energy" in what he would bring to the job. Everybody knows that was a shot at CMR. I'm as big of Dawg fan as there has ever been but I really really hope he fails. Stay classy Kirby

It's in your mind dude.
Why you feel the need to be a dick now is something you need to figure out, it's a character flaw.

LOL! Whatever dude. You need serious help. Smart didn't even mention Mark Richt, nor should he. The fact that you're so sensitive about it shows that Richt was indeed a large part of the problem, and you know it.

Personally, I think all of your posts should be deleted.

Get on the wagon or get the hell out of the way! To many Richt fans out there and not enough Dawg fans!

I'm a Richt fan, I love the man, and I rarely use that word to describe my feelings.
I'm 100% focused on where the program is headed though.
Frankly both sides of the Richt vs Kirby deal seems FUBAR to Me.
I wish CMR all the success in the world and GO DAWGS, where's the problem with either thought ?

Why the hell should Kirby Smart acknowledge Richt and what he meant to UGA? That I don't get. Smart owes Mark Richt nothing. He owes Nick Saban almost everything.

YES, He does owe Richt a lot, but I don't have a problem with his not mentioning him today, though it would have been gracious if He'd done so.
Richt gave him a job when We really didn't need a RB coach.
He also left the program in very good shape, Kirby's job will be easier because of it.

Here's the deal Richt was here for 15 years and things got stale. Everybody appreciates the things he did here but it was time to move on!

That's not what I consider owing Richt a lot. He owes Nick Saban a thousand times more than he owes Richt. Bringing up Richt would have been tacky as hell.

Let's quit Talking about crossing the GoalLine and actually start crossing it!!!! GATA CKS. Once a Dawg always a Dawg.

If you call that taking a shot at CMR you are one thin skinned individual. Get over it.

It would have been totally inappropriate to mention the success of Richt. Smart learned from Saban, and obviously felt a loyalty to Saban, due to the 9 years under him. As a Richt supporter, I don't feel there was any animosity towards Richt and his prior success. I'd suggest you might reevaluate Smart, and give him a second look.

Cool. Maybe he will win a mnc instead of looking like a man on Thorazine. I like it personally but I don't have the richt butt hurt either.

If you read between the lines he called obama a momma's boy and called his mother a harlot.

You need to let it go.You can't be that big of a Dawg fan with this line of thinking!

All right, how often does a new coach spend half the press conference praising the prior coach?
A) when the new coach is the hand-picked successor by the previous one from the previous one's staff
B) when the previous coach was a championship winning, beloved, Hall of Fame type guy

Neither scenario is in place here. First, Smart is not from Richt's staff. Second, Richt was pushed aside against his will (fired if you will) and replaced. Smart is not coming in with the idea that he is building on the legacy that Richt started. Instead, he is treating the Richt era as a failure and is planning on replacing everything from the guy that didn't get the job done (Richt) with what he learned from a guy who did (Saban). This isn't an orderly transition of power/changing of the guard but a hostile takeover, with the Saban product displacing and replacing the Bowden product.

Oh, and by the way ... these guys are competitors now. Richt didn't ride into the sunset and retire. Instead, he took another big time job at a power five school: the University of Miami. Richt and Smart are going to be competing with each other for the same players, and I am not merely talking about Eason. While Miami rarely recruited the state of Georgia under previous coaches, now that Richt knows this state like the back of his hand, he will be in this state early and often to plunder it for all the 4 and 5 star recruits he can get his hands on. So why on earth with CKS praise the guy knowing full well that every good thing that he says will wind up in some recruiting video that the 'Canes use against UGA on the recruiting trail?

I'm as big of Dawg fan as there has ever been but I really really hope he fails. Stay classy Kirby

No you aren't. You are a Mark Richt fan. Well, go root for Richt's current team, the Miami Hurricanes. The good news: as virtually no one attends Hurricanes home games even when the program is winning, you will have lots and lots and lots of seats to yourself. You and yours will be able to claim and entire section - for free too! - and then go hit the beach after the game.

You're an ass-hat. High-energy is what KS is. By the way, David Greene last Tuesday evening stated his view of things. He said in his first 4 or 5 years Mark Richt was on fire but that a HC gig is now 24x7. He stopped there because of his respect for his old coach but it was clear what he was saying.

he did mention cmr - said he owed a lot to him because he taught him about doing things with integrity and was thankful for the 1 yr on his staff - said he appreciated that he always did things with utmost integrity
