No two ways about it

Someone alert @MRDAWG that our military can’t build a pier. He and they should watch colorized D-Day footage to see how huge piers are built. 80 years ago.

I hope they don’t get anybody killed or sink any ships dismantling it and getting it to a scrapyard.

Think of how much money Biden has generated scrapping. The border wall and now the pier. Recycling is green right ?

Can't build a pier in that location,...it's not a harbor, direct assault from the ocean waves,...if Biden had half a spine, he would negotiate land crossing relief which is maybe 10 k Investment per truck for 20 pallets of food,...compared to airplane drop which is 2 million for 10 pallets dropped,...compared to 230 million for 0 pallets of food by pier build,...

It's not that we can't build a pier there, but rather you are not suppose to try to build one there

But it's easier to force people to try the impossible than to attempt a negotiation that makes sense for border crossings if the president needs a nap

Are you aware Ike had to postpone the invasion a number of times due to rough seas? The coast of Normandy is wide open to the English Channel.

And if you assume you were right that you can’t build a pier there, that makes our pier builders both inept and incompetent.

We did not build a pier at normandy,...it was sea craft built for invasion to be delivered near the shore by foot and swimming,...

It is not an argument about whether we can do something or not by willpower,...

But rather the casual attempt to build a pier at Palestine months ago gave biden a break against hard discussions against allies and enemies

Nah...they will sell what's left for 10 cents on the dollar...or less.

Someone should be fired. Hey Joe, have you fired anyone?
The person/persons who recommended this to Biden should be exposed. Probably some young naive staffer looking to make a name for themselves. I can just imagine 2-3 young whipper snappers suggesting it and the top military brass saying it can’t be done and then someone over riding the experts.

That was known before the pier was attempted. It was never going to work. Biden wanted a political win for sending aid to the Palestinians. Hamas will have to get their rockets the old-fashioned way. Through the tunnels like before.

A Mulberry Harbor at Normandy. And I’m done talking with you about this.

Parting is such sweet sorrow

That's what I said in the beginning, the need for a harbour either natural or man made for protection from the seas

The D-Day pier/harbor only lasted 16 days until the seas wrecked it, but it served its purpose in a short amount of time

The national science foundation spends 6 months every year constructing a floating ice pier with natural protection in Antarctica so they can use it for servicing 2 ships over a 3-4 week period in January, then the pier blows away in the ocean and they spend 6 months rebuilding a new one again for January of next year so that it can be used for 3 weeks.

Highways are more reliable than floating piers,...highways do not wash away as easily,....but fairyland floating piers help to avoid hard discussions with Israel and Egypt about utilizing highways
